Cambridgeshire - Multiple Roads Temporary Prohibition of Through Traffic

What is happening?

The proposed Order is necessary to facilitate drainage improvement and associated works works which are being carried out on or near this highway and it will come into operation on 1 January 2025 and continue until these works have finished or on the 30 June 2026 whichever is the earlier. It is anticipated that these works will be carried out between 1 January and 22 January 2025.

Cambridge Footpath 3, Cambridge (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF USE) ORDER 2025-145

Is to stop any pedestrian from proceeding along Cambridge Footpath 3, Cambridge as lies between Orchard Estate and Railway Street.

The alternative route for pedestrians will be as signed.

The proposed Order is necessary to facilitate footpath resurfacing and associated works which are being carried out on or near this highway and it will come into operation on 13 January 2025 and continue until these works have finished or on the 12 July 2025 whichever is the earlier. It is anticipated that these works will be carried out between 13 January 2025 and 17 January 2025.

Station Road, Great Shelford (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF THROUGH TRAFFIC) ORDER 2025-119

Is to stop any vehicle from proceeding along Station Road, Great Shelford as lies between points 20m either side of the railway level crossing situated there as measured from its gates or barriers.

The alternative route for vehicles is via Hinton Way – A1307 – Granhams Road, Cambridge – Granhams Road, Great Shelford – A1301 – Station Road and vice versa.

The proposed Order is necessary to facilitate essential maintenance works which are being carried out on or near this highway and it will come into operation on 10 January 2025 and continue until these works have finished or on the 9 July 2026 whichever is the earlier. It is anticipated that these works will be carried out overnight between 00:01hrs and 04:30hrs 10 January 2025.

Queens Meadow, Cambridge (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF THROUGH TRAFFIC) ORDER 25-134

Is to stop any vehicle from proceeding along Queens Meadow, Cambridge as lies between number 6 and Coldhams Lane.

The proposed Order is necessary to facilitate electrical cabling and associated works
which are being carried out on or near this highway and it will come into operation
on 13 January 2025 and continue until these works have finished or on the 12 July
2026 whichever is the earlier. It is anticipated that these works will be carried out between 13 January and 23 February 2025.

ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 SECTION 14(1) AS AMENDED BY THE ROAD TRAFFIC (TEMPORARY RESTRICTIONS) ACT 1991 VARIOUS ROADS, SOUTH DIVISION (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF THROUGH TRAFFIC) ORDER 2025-047

Is to stop any vehicle from proceeding along various roads as set out in Schedule 1 below.

Nothing in this Order shall prevent access and egress from premises or land adjacent to the highway mentioned in Schedule 1.

The Order is necessary for safety reasons to facilitate duct installation and associated works.

The proposed Order will come into operation on 22 January 2025 and will continue until these works have finished or on the 21 July 2026 whichever is the earlier. It is anticipated that this order will apply to the locations, at various times during the dates specified in the Schedule.

The above orders shall not apply to any persons lawfully engaged in connection with any works for which these are made, any member of the Police Force, Fire and Rescue Service, Ambulance Service, a vehicle being used by Special Forces during the execution of their duties or to any person acting with the permission or upon the direction of a Police Officer in uniform.
