What is happening?

Highways

 Kent County Council, acting in exercise of its powers under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984,  makes or intends to make the following Orders.

Thanet Area

Arlington Gardens, Margate, CT9 3SB (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025

To allow sewer works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Arlington Gardens, Margate, on or after 20th January 2025 for up to 21 days or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed from the roundabout to outside number 103, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Arlington Gardens, Marlowe Road, Invicta Road, Dane Valley Road and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.

Duncan Road, Ramsgate, CT11 9ST (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025

To allow drainage works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Duncan Road, Ramsgate, on or after 24th January 2025 for up to 8 hours or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed 40m South of the junction of Ellington Road, between the hours of 09:00 and 17:00 only, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Duncan Road, Crescent Road, South Eastern Road, Ellington Road and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.

Ellington Road, Ramsgate, CT11 9SG (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025

To allow water works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Ellington Road, Ramsgate, on or after 6th January 2025 for up to 5 days or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed outside number 7, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Cannon Road, High Street, South Eastern Road, Ellington Road and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.

Fulsam Place, Margate, CT9 5FE (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025

To allow tree cutting works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Fulsam Place, Margate, on or after 21st January 2025 for up to 6 hours or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed 20m either side, between the hours of 09:30 and 15:30 only, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

There is no alternative route. Every effort will be made to maintain access for residents whenever it is safe to do so.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.

Harbour Street & High Street, Ramsgate, CT11 9DS (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING & SUSPENSION OF ONE-WAY) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025

To allow gas works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Harbour Street & High Street, Ramsgate, on or after 6th January 2025 for up to 9 days or until the works have been completed.

Harbour Street will be closed outside number 18, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

High Street will have a temporary suspension of one-way imposed between the junctions of Harbour Street and Turner Street, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via B2054 Madeira Walk, B2054 Wellington Crescent, B2054 Victoria Parade, B2054 Victoria Road, King Street, Broad Street, Turner Street, High Street and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.

Hengist Road, Westgate On Sea, CT8 8HB (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025

To allow gas works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Hengist Road, Westgate On Sea, on or after 20th January 2025 for up to 40 days or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed between the junctions of Ryders Avenue and A28 Canterbury Road, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Ryders Avenue, Cuthbert Road, St Mildreds Road, A28 Canterbury Road and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.

Napleton Road, Ramsgate, CT11 0AB (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025

To allow gas works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Napleton Road, Ramsgate, on or after 7th January 2025 for up to 8 days or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed between the junctions of Bloomsbury Road and Southwood Road, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Bloomsbury Road, Lorne Road, Southwood Road and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.

Northdown Way, Margate, CT9 3QT (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025

To allow water works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Northdown Way, Margate, on or after 20th January 2025 for up to 5 days or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed from outside number 34 to outside number 41, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Northdown Way, St Anthonys Way, Tenterden Way, B2052 Millmead Road and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.

Princes Street, Margate, CT9 1QS (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING & SUSPENSION OF ONE-WAY) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025

To allow utility works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Princes Street, Margate, on or after 9th January 2025 for up to 7 days or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed from Theatre Royal to Hawley Health Centre, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

A suspension of one-way will be imposed the entire length, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via B2055 Cecil Street, Hawley Square, Addington Street and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.

Princes Street, Margate, CT9 1QS (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING & SUSPENSION OF ONE-WAY) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025

To allow water works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Princes Street, Margate, on or after 20th January 2025 for up to 5 days or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed from number 4 to the junctions of Addington Street, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The one-way Order will be suspended from number 4 to the junction of B2055 Cecil Street, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via B2055 Cecil Street, Hawley Square, Addington Street and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.

Reading Street, Broadstairs, CT10 3BE (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025

To allow sewer works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Reading Street, Broadstairs, on or after 6th January 2025 for up to 20 days or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed opposite number 48, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Reading Street, Callis Court Road, Grange Road, Beacon Road and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.

Seamark Road, Birchington, CT7 0JW (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025

To allow water works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Seamark Road, Birchington, on or after 6th January 2025 for up to 5 days or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed on the slip road exiting A28 Canterbury Road onto Seamark Road, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via A28 Canterbury Road, A299 Thanet Way, Seamark Road and vice versa.

Spratling Street, Manston, CT12 5AW (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025

To allow water works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Spratling Street, Manston, on or after 6th January 2025 for up to 5 days or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed between the junctions of Preston Road and A256 Haine Road, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Spratling Street, Preston Road, B2050 Manston Road, A256 Haine Road and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.

Sussex Avenue, Margate, CT9 1TH (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025

To allow gas works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Sussex Avenue, Margate, on or after 9th January 2025 for up to 9 days or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed opposite number 25, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via A255 St Peters Road, Addiscombe Road, St Peters Footpath and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.

Various Roads, Westgate On Sea, CT8 8BP (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025

To allow gas works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Various Roads, Westgate On Sea, on or after 6th January 2025 until the works have been completed.

Works will be carried out in 5 phases as detailed below:

Phase 1 - Works will be carried out from 6th January 2025, with estimated completion by 28th March 2025.

Minster Road will be closed from the junction of A28 Canterbury Road to number 134, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Minster Road, Shottendane Road, B2050 Manston Road, B2050 Park Lane, A28 The Square, A28 Canterbury Road and vice versa.

Phase 2 - Works will be carried out from 6th January 2025, with estimated completion by 24th January 2025.

Streete Court Road will be closed at the junction of Minster Road, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Streete Court Road, Victoria Avenue, A28 Canterbury Road, Minster Road and vice versa.

Phase 3 - Works will be carried out from 27th January 2025, with estimated completion by 14th February 2025.

Linden Road will be closed at the junction of Minster Road, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Linden Road, Victoria Avenue, A28 Canterbury Road, Minster Road and vice versa.

Lymington Road will be closed at the junction of Minster Road, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Lymington Road, Cambourne Avenue, A28 Canterbury Road, Minster Road and vice versa.

Phase 4 - Works will be carried out from 17th February 2025, with estimated completion by 7th March 2025.

Richborough Road will be closed at the junction of Minster Road, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Richborough Road, Victoria Avenue, A28 Canterbury Road, Minster Road and vice versa.

Phase 5 - Works will be carried out from 10th March 2025, with estimated completion by 28th March 2025.

St Benets Road will be closed at the junction of Minster Road, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via St Benets Road, St Crispins Road, Lymington Road, Minster Road and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
