What is happening?
HERTFORDSHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL:
(TEMPORARY CLOSING OF A4178 CASSIO ROAD AND A412 RICKMANSWORTH ROAD, WATFORD) ORDER 2024
NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using the following lengths of roads (“the Roads”):
- the northbound carriageway of A4178 Cassio Road, Watford from a point in line with the southern boundary of ‘Yewstone Court’ north westwards to its junction with A412 Rickmansworth Road, a distance of approximately 100m.
An alternative route will be via A4178 Cassio Road, A412 Rickmansworth Road, the A411 Beechen Grove roundabout, A412 Rickmansworth Road, A4178 (Cassio Road/Merton Road/Wiggenhall Road/ Farraline Road), A4145 (Vicarage Road/Hagden Lane), Hagden Lane and A412 Rickmansworth Road.
- the southbound carriageway of A412 Rickmansworth Road, Watford from its junction with A4178 Cassio Road south westwards to its junction with Gate House Place, a distance of approximately 200m.
An alternative route will be via A4178 (Cassio Road/Merton Road/Wiggenhall Road/ Farraline Road), A4145 (Vicarage Road/Hagden Lane), Hagden Lane and A412 Rickmansworth Road.
The Order is needed because bridge maintenance and associated works are proposed to be executed on or near the Roads.
If the Order is made, it shall come into force on 6 January 2025 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Roads.

(TEMPORARY CLOSING OF SUSSEX ROAD, WATFORD) ORDER 2024
NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of Sussex Road, Watford from its junction with Diamond Road north westwards for a distance of approximately 30m (“the Road”).
An alternative route will be via Diamond Road, Leavesden Road, Jubilee Road and Sussex Road.
The Order is needed because utility service works are proposed to be executed on or near the Road.
If the Order is made, it shall come into force on 13 January 2025 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Road.

(TEMPORARY CLOSING OF CHALFONT LANE, CHORLEYWOOD) ORDER NO.2 2024
NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of Chalfont Lane, Chorleywood from its junction with Shire Lane north westwards to its junction with Burtons Lane, a distance of approximately 474m (“the Road”), except for access.
An alternative route will be via Shire Lane, Whitelands Avenue and Blacketts Wood Drive.
The Order is needed because utility service works are proposed to be executed on or near the Road.
If the Order is made, it shall come into force on 13 January 2025 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Road.

(TEMPORARY CLOSING OF THE ACCESS ROAD LEADING TO ‘SHEEPCOT SERVICE STATION’, WATFORD) ORDER 2024
NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using the access road leading to ‘Sheepcot Service Station’, Watford from its junction with A405 North Orbital Road north eastwards for a distance of approximately 15m (“the Road”).
An alternative route will be via A405 North Orbital Road.
The Order is needed because utility service works are proposed to be executed on or near the Road.
If the Order is made, it shall come into force on 6 January 2025 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Road.

(TEMPORARY CLOSING OF OXHEY AVENUE, WATFORD) ORDER 2024
NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council has made the above Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of Oxhey Avenue, Watford from its junction with A4008 Pinner Road south westwards for a distance of approximately 28m (“the Road”), except for access.
An alternative route will be via A4008 Pinner Road, Grover Road and Oxhey Avenue.
The Order is needed because utility service connection works are proposed to be executed on or near the Road.
The Order has been made and shall come into force on 17 December 2024 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Road.

(TEMPORARY CLOSING OF RUGBY WAY, CROXLEY GREEN AND MOOR LANE, SARRATT) ORDER 2024
NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council has made the above Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using the following lengths of roads (“the Roads”), except for access:-
- that length of Rugby Way, Croxley Green from its junction with Fuller Way northwards to its junction with Sherborne Way, a distance of approximately 273m.
An alternative route will be via Fuller Way, Barton Way and Sherborne Way.
- that length of Moor Lane, Sarratt from its junction with Dawes Lane north westwards and north eastwards to its junction with The Green, a distance of approximately 1490m.
An alternative route will be via Dawes Lane and The Green.
The Order is needed because works are proposed to be executed on or near the Roads.
The Order has been made and shall come into force on 16 December 2024 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Roads.
