  1. NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Croydon Council propose to make the above Traffic Order under Section 6 and 124 of Part IV of Schedule 9 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended and all other enabling powers.

  2. (a) The general effect of the Orders will be to introduce prohibitions on any motorised vehicle entering the streets/sections of streets listed below during the periods between 8am and 9.30am and 2pm and 4pm, Monday to Friday, with an exemption for those holding a valid permit in relation to the pedestrian and cycle zone in that street/section of street, issued by the Council. The restrictions will be enforced during school term time.

    (b) The restrictions will not apply to vehicles being used for police, ambulance, or fire service purposes, to liveried vehicles providing a universal postal service or to vehicles in the service of the local authority being used in pursuance of statutory powers or duties.

  3. A copy of the proposed Orders and all related documents can be inspected from the date of this notice until the last day of a period of six weeks beginning with the date on which the Orders were made or, as the case may be, the Council decides not to make the Order, between 9am and 4pm on Mondays to Fridays inclusive at the Enquiry Counter, “Access Croydon” Facility, Bernard Weatherill House, 8 Mint Walk, Croydon, Surrey, CR0 1EA. Alternatively, further information or a copy of the documents may be obtained by telephoning Croydon Council on 020 8726 6000 and asking for the Highway Improvement Team.

  4. Persons desiring to object to the proposed Orders should make a statement in writing of their objection and the grounds thereof via the “get involved” page at https://www.getinvolved.croydon.gov.uk/healthy-school-streets-group-5-statutory-consultation. Alternatively, persons wishing to object can write to the Highway Improvement Team, 3rd Floor, Zone C, Bernard Weatherill House, 8 Mint Walk, Croydon, CR0 1EA by 08 January 2025, ensuring that the relevant proposed school street location is clearly stated.

PROPOSED INTRODUCTION OF ELECTRIC VEHICLE CHARGING BAYS AND CHARGING POINTS – REEDHAM PARK AVENUE, PURLEY

The Croydon (Prohibition and Restriction of Stopping, Loading and Waiting) and (Free Parking Places) (No. K42) Order 20-

  1. NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Croydon Council proposes to make the above Traffic Orders under the relevant sections of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended and all other enabling powers and proposes to install electric vehicle charging points under section 16 of the London Local Authorities and Transport for London Act 2013.

2. The general effect of the Orders would be:

(a) To provide parking places which may be used free of charge by electrically propelled vehicles that are being charged with electrical power, operational at any time on Mondays to Sundays inclusive, in the locations detailed in the Schedule to this Notice.

(b) To install electric vehicle charging points adjacent to the proposed parking places, as specified in the Schedule to this Notice.

(c) To amend the map-based tiles to the Schedule attached to the above Orders to accurately represent the new parking arrangements as they exist on site.

NOTE: although parking in the electric vehicle bays is free

  • A copy of the proposed Orders and all related documents can be inspected until the last day of a period of six weeks beginning with the date on which the Orders are made or, as the case may be, the Council decides not to make the Orders, between 9am and 4pm, Mon–Fri, at Access Croydon, Bernard Weatherill House, 8 Mint Walk, Croydon, CR0 1EA.   • Persons desiring to object or make representations in relation to the proposed Orders or charging points should send a statement in writing of their objection and the grounds thereof to the Order Making Section, Parking Design Team, Place Department, Croydon Council, Floor 3, Zone C, Bernard Weatherill House, 8 Mint Walk, Croydon CR0 1EA or email Parking Design (email address above) quoting the reference PD/CH/K41 & K42 within 28 days of the publication of this notice – by 09 January 2025.

  • The proposed Orders are intended to introduce electric vehicle charging bays and charging points to enable electric vehicle users to have access to unobstructed charging facilities reserved for the use of electric vehicles only, as part of the Council’s aim to have a phased introduction of up to 400 electric vehicle charging points across the borough. The Orders are also intended to amend existing restrictions to accommodate the new electric vehicle charging bays where necessary.

    NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Croydon Council on 09 December 2024 made the above Traffic Orders under section 6 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended and all other enabling powers.

    1. The general effect of the Orders will be to:

    a) Revoke the disabled parking places in the vicinity of No. 94 Braemar Avenue, South Croydon, No. 32 Gloucester Road, Croydon, No. 1 Lyndhurst Road, Thornton Heath, No. 5 Sandpits Road, Croydon, No. 48 Stretton Road, Croydon, and No. 121 Waddon Road, Croydon.

    b) Designate new parking places at which vehicles displaying a disabled persons’ badge may be left without charge or time limit in the following locations.

Alternatively, all related documents or further information can be requested by email to Parking.Design@croydon.gov.uk.

    Any person desiring to question the validity of the Orders or of any provision contained therein on the grounds that it is not within the relevant powers of the Road Traffic Regulation Act, 1984 or that any of the relevant requirements thereof or of any relevant regulations made there under have not been complied with in relation to the Orders may, within six weeks of the date on which the Orders were made, make application for the purpose to the High Court.

    ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT, 1984, SECTION 14 AS AMENDED

    THE ROAD TRAFFIC (TEMPORARY RESTRICTIONS) ACT 1991 AND ALL OTHER ENABLING POWERS

    HOWDEN ROAD, SOUTH NORWOOD

    TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF VEHICULAR TRAFFIC & PARKING

    Croydon Council HEREBY GIVE NOTICE that to facilitate water pipe repair works on behalf of Thames Water, they have made an Order the effect of which would be to temporarily prohibit vehicular traffic movements and parking in Howden Road.

    Whilst the said works are taking place:

    a) Howden Road will be closed at its junction with South Norwood Hill.

    b) The disabled bay on the north-west side of Howden Road near the junction with South Norwood Hill will be suspended

    Whilst the closure is in place the alternative routes for traffic will be via Lancaster Road and Cypress Road, or via Lancaster Road and Southern Avenue, as appropriately signed.

    The Order will come into operation on 14 December 2024, and it is anticipated that the work will be completed within two days. However, the Order will remain in force for 18 months to be reintroduced should further work be required. The prohibitions will only apply during such times and to such extent as shall from time to time be indicated by traffic signs.

    These restrictions shall not apply in respect of:

    (a) any vehicle involved in carrying out the said works.

    (b) any vehicle being used for fire brigade, ambulance or police purposes.

    (c) anything done with the permission of a police constable in uniform or a Civil Enforcement Officer.
