Newton Bucknell, Herefordshire - Temporary Road Closure due to Bridge Strengthening Works

Notice of Intention

NOTICE is hereby given that Herefordshire Council, as highway authority, intend, under its relevant powers, to make the following Order: C1006 From Letton To C1007 Via Newton, Newton Bucknell, Temporary Road Closure Order, to temporarily prohibit the use by vehicles on the C1006 From Letton To C1007 Via Newton, Newton Bucknell, from Upper Letton Cottages to the junction of Grove Road. Grid Ref: 337717/269881. The alternative route for those affected by the proposal is via the C1006 onto the C1007, onto the B4362, onto the A4110, onto the B4350, onto the A4113, onto the C1006 and vice versa.

The said closure is required due to bridge strengthening works and the likelihood of danger to the public while the works are taking place. The said closure will come into force on 6th of January 2024 and remain in force for a maximum period of 18 months (unless extended with the consent of the Secretary of State) but the works are expected to be completed within 6 weeks.
