M40 Junction 1-15 and A40 Denham Roundabout - Temporary Overnight Closures due to Maintenance Works

THE M40 MOTORWAY (JUNCTION 1 TO JUNCTION 15)

AND THE A40 TRUNK ROAD (DENHAM, BUCKINGHAMSHIRE)

(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2024

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that National Highways Limited(a) has made an Order on the M40 Motorway and the A40 Trunk Road in the Districts of South Buckinghamshire and Wycombe in the County of Buckinghamshire, the District of South Oxfordshire and Cherwell in the County of Oxfordshire and Stratford on Avon and Warwick in the County of Warwickshire to allow maintenance works to be carried out in safety.

The works are expected to take place commencing on or after 2 January 2025 and be completed by 21 December 2025.

The effect of the Order will be to authorise the overnight closure (20.30 – 08.30) of sections of:-

(i) the M40 between Junction 1 and Junction 15 and A40 Denham Roundabout, Denham;

(ii) northbound and southbound Oxford Spurs leading to and from the A40 at Junction 8;

(iii) all slip roads leading to and from the M40.

During the closures traffic will be diverted via junctions of the M40, A40 and local roads.

The duration of each closure will vary depending on the nature of the maintenance work being undertaken on each occasion.

The closures (which will not apply to emergency service, traffic officer, works or winter maintenance vehicles), and diversion routes will be clearly indicated by traffic signs.

The prohibitions will only apply during such times and to such extent as shall be indicated by traffic signs.

The Order will come into force on 27 December 2024 and have a maximum duration of 18 months.
