What is happening?

ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 -

SECTION 14(1)

CENTRAL BEDFORDSHIRE COUNCIL

(ASHWELL STREET, LEIGHTON BUZZARD)

(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2025 NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Central Bedfordshire Council intends not less than seven days from the date of this Notice to make an Order the effect of which will be to prohibit any vehicle, except a vehicle being used for fire, police or ambulance purposes in an emergency, from proceeding along the length of Ashwell Street, Leighton Buzzard outside the former Ashwell Arms.

This temporary closure is required to enable new water supply connection works to take place and shall apply to such extent as may from time to time be indicated by the appropriate traffic signs. Where possible access will be maintained to property and premises but may be restricted from time to time according to local signing.

It is expected that the works will take place from 13 to 15 January 2025. The road will be closed at all times during this period.

The alternative route for this closure is via Church Street, Mill Road and vice versa.

The Order will come into operation on 13 January 2025 for a period of eighteen months or until the proposed works have been completed, as detailed above, whichever is the earlier.

CENTRAL BEDFORDSHIRE COUNCIL

(SUMMER STREET, LEIGHTON BUZZARD)

(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2025

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Central Bedfordshire Council intends not less than seven days from the date of this Notice to make an Order the effect of which will be to prohibit any vehicle, except a vehicle being used for fire, police or ambulance purposes in an emergency, from proceeding along the length of Summer Street, Leighton Buzzard outside number 36.

This temporary closure is required to enable new water connection works to take place and shall apply to such extent as may from time to time be indicated by the appropriate traffic signs. Where possible access will be maintained to property and premises but may be restricted from time to time according to local signing.

It is expected that the works will take place from 13 to 15 January 2025. The road will be closed at all times during this period.

The alternative route for this closure is via East Street, Summer Street and vice versa.

The Order will come into operation on 13 January 2025 for a period of eighteen months or until the proposed works have been completed, as detailed above, whichever is the earlier.

CENTRAL BEDFORDSHIRE COUNCIL

(ST ANDREWS STREET, LEIGHTON BUZZARD)

(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2025

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Central Bedfordshire Council intends not less than seven days from the date of this Notice to make an Order the effect of which will be to prohibit any vehicle, except a vehicle being used for fire, police or ambulance purposes in an emergency, from proceeding along the length of St Andrews Street, Leighton Buzzard outside the junction with Bedford Street.

This temporary closure is required to enable sluice valve repair work to take place and shall apply to such extent as may from time to time be indicated by the appropriate traffic signs. Where possible access will be maintained to property and premises but may be restricted from time to time according to local signing.

It is expected that the works will take place from 14 to 16 January 2025. The road will be closed at all times during this period.

The alternative route for this closure is via Beaudesert, Hockliffe Street, Leston Road, North Street and vice versa.

The Order will come into operation on 14 January 2025 for a period of eighteen months or until the proposed works have been completed, as detailed above, whichever is the earlier.

CENTRAL BEDFORDSHIRE COUNCIL

(OLD ROAD, LINSLADE)

(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2025 NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Central

Bedfordshire Council intends not less than seven days from the date of this Notice to make an Order the effect of which will be to prohibit any vehicle, except a vehicle being used for fire, police or ambulance purposes in an emergency, from proceeding along the length of Old Road, Linslade at the zebra crossing next to Stoke Road.

This temporary closure is required to enable bollard replacement works to take place and shall apply to such extent as may from time to time be indicated by the appropriate traffic signs. Where possible access will be maintained to property and premises but may be restricted from time to time according to local signing.

It is expected that the works will take place from

20 to 22 January 2025 between the hours of 9am and 3:30pm. The road will be closed at all times during this period.

The alternative route for this closure is via Stoke Road, A4146, Leighton Road, Soulbury Road.

The Order will come into operation on 20 January 2025 for a period of eighteen months or until the proposed works have been completed, as detailed above, whichever is the earlier.

CENTRAL BEDFORDSHIRE COUNCIL – NOTICE OF MAKING

TO REVOKE AND INTRODUCE WAITING RESTRICTIONS ON

HOCKLIFFE ROAD, LEIGHTON BUZZARD On 6th December 2024 Central Bedfordshire Council made the below named Traffic Regulation Order which has the effect as follows:-

To revoke No Waiting at any time on the following length of road in Leighton Buzzard:-

1.  Hockliffe Road, north side, from a point approximately in line with the east flank wall belonging to No. 19 Hockliffe Road and extending in an easterly direction for approximately 28 metres.

To introduce No Waiting at any time on the following length of road in Leighton Buzzard:-

1. Hockliffe Road, north side, from a point approximately in line with the east flank wall belonging to No. 19 Hockliffe Road and extending in a south-easterly direction initially and then following the curvature of the junction north-east for a total of approximately 15 metres up to the junction with the access to the new Care Home (Marigold House).

2. Hockliffe Road, north side, from a point approximately in line with the common property boundary between No.25 and No. 27 Hockliffe Road and extending in a westerly direction initially and then following the curvature of the junction north-west for a total of approximately 15 metres up to the junction with the access to the new Care Home (Marigold House).

Order Title:- Central Bedfordshire Council (Bedfordshire County Council (District of South Bedfordshire) (Civil Enforcement Area and Special Enforcement Area) (Waiting Restrictions and Street Parking Places)

(Consolidation) Order 2008) (Variation No.46) Order 2024 Date of Operation:- The Order will come into operation on the 24th December 2024.

High Court Challenge:- Any person who desires to question the validity of the Order or of any provision contained therein on the ground that it is not within the powers of the relevant Section of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 or on the ground that any requirement of that Section had not been complied with in relation to the Order may, within six weeks of 6th December 2024, make application for the purpose to the High Court.
