Seaway Road, Paignton - Prohibition Vehicular Traffic For Rail Bridge Inspection Works
What is happening?
BOROUGH OF TORBAY
(SEAWAY ROAD, PAIGNTON) (PART)
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF USE) ORDER 2024
Notice is hereby given that Torbay Council made the above Order on 11th December 2024 under the provisions of Section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984. The effect will be to prohibit vehicular traffic in part of Seaway Road, between junction of Morin Road and Marine Parade rear.
There are exemptions from the Order for vehicles used in emergency for police, fire or ambulance purposes, or used in connection with the works mentioned below, and for the conveyance of persons, goods, or merchandise to or from any premises situated on or adjacent to that length of road or to or from any other premises accessible for vehicles from, and only from, that length of road.
The Order has been made because Network Rail bridge inspection works are being or are proposed to be executed on or near the above length of road.
The alternative route available for traffic which will be affected by the Order is via Eugene Road, Paris Road, Torquay Road, Manor Road (one way).
The Order will come into force on 23rd January 2025 and will continue in force for a period not exceeding eighteen months or until the above works have been completed, whichever is the earlier. It is anticipated that such works will take approximately one night to complete.
