What is happening?

HERTFORDSHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL:

TEMPORARY CLOSING OF FOOTPATH ST ALBANS 30

Notice is given that the Hertfordshire County Council has extended, with consent of the Secretary of State, the Order which was made under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit pedestrians from using that length of Footpath St Albans 30, heading south-east from St Michaels Street to junction with St Albans City 34, for an approximate distance of 700 metres.

Alternative route: no suitable alternative on PRoW network.

The purpose of the Order is to enable surfacing works to take place.

The section of Footpath will continue to be closed for up to 12 months until 07/12/2025 or completion of the works, whichever is sooner.

TEMPORARY CLOSING OF VARIOUS ROADS IN ST ALBANS

ORDER NO. 4 2024

Notice is given that Hertfordshire County Council intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using the following lengths of roads ("the Roads"), except for access:

  1. That length of Grimston Road, St Albans from its junction with B691 Victoria Street south-eastwards to its junction with Flora Grove, a distance of approximately 91m.

    Alternative route: via B691 Victoria Street, Beaconsfield Road, A1057 Hatfield Road, Camp Road, Breakspear Road and Flora Grove.

  2. That length of B691 Victoria Street, St Albans from its junction with Grimston Road north-westwards to its junction with Station Road, a distance of approximately 54m.

    Alternative route: via Grimston Road, Flora Grove, Breakspear Road, Camp Road, A1057 Hatfield Road, Beaconsfield Road and B691 Victoria Street.

  3. That length of B691 Stanhope Road, St Albans from its junction with B691 Victoria Street north-eastwards to its junction with Granville Road, a distance of approximately 53m.

    Alternative route: via B691 Victoria Street, Beaconsfield Road, A1057 Hatfield Road, Camp Road, Breakspear Road and Flora Grove or via Grimston Road, Flora Grove, Breakspear Road, Camp Road, A1057 Hatfield Road, Beaconsfield Road and B691 Victoria Street.

The Order is needed because utility service works are proposed to be executed on or near the Roads.

If the Order is made, it shall come into force on 12 January 2025 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Roads.

TEMPORARY CLOSING OF ALEXANDRA ROAD, ST ALBANS

ORDER NO. 2 2024

Notice is given that Hertfordshire County Council intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of Alexandra Road, St Albans from a point in line with the western boundary of No. 46 Alexandra Road north-westwards to its junction with Inkerman Road, a distance of approximately 27m ("the Road"), except for access.

Alternative route: via Alexandra Road, Alma Road, Bedford Road and Inkerman Road.

The Order is needed because utility service works are proposed to be executed on or near the Road.

If the Order is made, it shall come into force on 16 January 2025 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Road.
