Stamfordham Road and West Denton Way - Introduce a Bus Lane

CITY OF NEWCASTLE UPON TYNE (BUS LANES) TRAFFIC REGULATION ORDER 2014 (STAMFORDHAM ROAD (B6324) AND WEST DENTON WAY VARIATION) ORDER 2024

1. NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that on 5th December 2024 the Council of the City of Newcastle upon Tyne made an Order under Sections 1, 2, 4, 19 and Part IV of Schedule 9 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 which amends the City of Newcastle upon Tyne (Bus Lanes) Traffic Regulation Order 2014.

2. The effect of the Order which will come into operation on 20th December 2024 is to introduce a bus lane on the following lengths of road -

(a) Stamfordham Road - eastbound (nearside lane) - from a point 25 metres southeast of its junction with Garthfield Crescent in an easterly direction for a distance of 29 metres, and

(b) West Denton Way - northbound (nearside lane) - from a point 77 metres north east of its junction with Fairspring in a northerly direction for a distance of 64 metres.

The bus lanes will operate all days, 7am to 7pm. Only buses, taxis, motor cycles, pedal cycles and authorised vehicles will be allowed in the bus lanes during the times of operation.

4. If you wish to question the validity of the above Order or of any of its provisions on the grounds that it or they are not within the powers conferred by the Act or that any relevant requirements have not been complied with in relation to the Order you may, within six weeks from 5th December 2024, apply to the High Court for this purpose.
