Shropshire - Various Road Traffic Restrictions

SHROPSHIRE COUNCIL     

TEMPORARY TRAFFIC REGULATION ORDER/S –     

PUBLIC NOTICES OF MAKING     

        
NOTICE is hereby given that Shropshire Council (“The Council”) have made an Order/s under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulations Act 1984 (as amended), the effect of which is to restrict the use of roads as stated below. The Order/s for regulation is/are required for the purpose/s as stated
below. There are exemptions in the Order/s to permit pedestrian access (and/or vehicular access at the discretion of the Council or Statutory Undertaker) to any land or premises having a frontage to the said highway affected where there is no other form of access, and to any access allowing the
necessary works to be undertaken. Access will be maintained for cyclists, pedestrians and dismounted horse riders unless stated below.  The alternative route/s for those affected by the proposal/s is/are as stated below.        
        
The Order/s came into force on 16 th December 2024 and will remain in force for a maximum period of eighteen months (unless extended upon the direction of the Secretary of State) or until any said works are completed, whichever is earlier.  However, it is expected that the Order/s will only be operative for the duration as stated below

Description of restriction: Traffic will be prohibited from Parking, Loading and Waiting on High
Street, Mardol Head and Shoplatch, Shrewsbury
Date & Duration: 18th December 2024 between 15:00 to 20:00          
Purpose: Shrewsbury Carols in the Square            
Alternative Route : Not applicable

Description of restriction:  Traffic will be prohibited from using Belmont, Shrewsbury. At the same
time the one way order will be rescinded to allow access.
Date & Duration:  16th December 2024 for 2 days between 09:30 to 14:45           
Purpose:  Road Closure - BT, to provide a safe working area for engineers to access existing box and lay new ducting to provide fibre cabling for a customer. 
Alternative Route : Town Walls, Swan Hill, College Hill, Princess Street 
 
Description of restriction: Traffic will be prohibited from using Unnamed road between Bettws-y- Crwyn and Beguildy
Date & Duration:  17th December 2024 for 1 day             
Purpose:  Road Closure-Openreach- Renew pole and associated cabling            
Alternative Route : Unnamed road West continuing North towards Anchor, B4368, Unnamed road South West

Description of restriction: Traffic will be prohibited from using Unnamed road between Harton and Westhope
Date & Duration: 18th December 2024 for 1 day          
Purpose:  Road Closure-National Grid -Tree trimming - No excavation            
Alternative Route : Unnamed road South West, Unnamed road North East, Unnamed road South East   

Description of restriction: Traffic will be prohibited from using Unnamed road through Aston Square
Date & Duration:     16th December 2024 for 2 days             
Purpose:  Road closure - Remedial            
Alternative Route : A5, B5009, Unnamed road South West   
           
Description of restriction: Traffic will be prohibited from using Unnamed road at Bronygarth Nr Weston Rhyn
Date & Duration: 16th December 2024 for 40 days             
Purpose: Road Closure due to collapsed road and retaining wall            
Alternative Route : B4500, High Street, Bronygarth road      
 
Description of restriction: Traffic will be prohibited from using Unnamed road Cardington to Manor Farm
Date &  Duration: 16th December  2024 for 25 days             
Purpose:  Road Closure due to culvert collapse            
Alternative Route : Unnamed road South West through Enchmarch, Unnamed road South East towards Cardington 

Description of restriction: Traffic will be prohibited from Parking, Waiting and Loading on St Marys
Place, Shrewsbury opposite The Parade shopping centre to the ticket machine opposite no.5
Date &  Duration:  21st December 2024 from 06:00 to Midnight           
Purpose: Suspension of four parking bays on St. Mary's Place for an event held in St Mary,s Church            
Alternative Route : Not applicable

Description of restriction: Traffic will be prohibited from using Unnamed road west of Treflach
Date & Duration: 16th December 2024 for 90 days             
Purpose:Road Closure due to edge of carriageway collapse
