Kent County Council, acting in exercise of its powers under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, makes or intends to make the following Orders.

 

DOVER AREA

 

THE KENT COUNTY COUNCIL
(VARIOUS ROADS, DOVER) (SPEED LIMITS) (CONSOLIDATION) ORDER 2022
(AMENDMENT No.11) ORDER 2024

Notice is given that KENT COUNTY COUNCIL, acting as Local Traffic Authority and in exercise of its powers under sections 81, 82, 84 and 124 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, (hereinafter referred to as the Act) and all other enabling powers, after consultation with the Chief Officer of Police in accordance with Part III of Schedule 9 to the Act, hereby make the following order.

The effect of the order would be to reduce the current speed limit from 30MPH to 20MPH on the following lengths of roads in St Margarets at Cliffe, Dover:-

ASHGROVE, BAY HILL, CHAPEL LANE, CHURCHILL CLOSE, GLEBE CLOSE, HIGH STREET, HOTEL ROAD, KENILWORTH CLOSE, LANGDON CLOSE, MILLFIELD, REACH CLOSE, REACH ROAD, ROMAN WAY, ROYSTON GARDENS, SEA STREET, ST GEORGES PLACE, TOWNSEND FARM ROAD - For their entire length. DOVER ROAD – From its junction with Station Road for a distance of 28 metres in a south westerly direction. GRANVILLE ROAD – From its junction with Bay Hill to its junction with Hotel Road. KINGSDOWN ROAD – From its junction with High Street for a distance of 472 metres in a north easterly direction. STATION ROAD - From its junction with High Street for a distance of 52 metres in a north westerly direction. THE DROVEWAY – From its junction with Sea Street for a distance of 1026 metres in a north easterly direction. UPPER ROAD – From its junction with Reach Road for a distance of 226 metres in a south westerly direction.

The Order was made on 19 December 2024 and its provisions will come into effect on 20 December 2024.

GRAVESHAM AREA

(CONSOLIDATION) ORDER 2021 (AMENDMENT No.13) ORDER 2023

Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984

Notice is given that THE KENT COUNTY COUNCIL acting as the Local Traffic Authority and in exercise of its powers under Sections 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 19, 32, 35, 36, 45, 46, 47, 49, 53, 124 and Part IV of Schedule 9 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (‘the Act’), the Traffic Management Act 2004 and all other enabling powers, after consultation with the Chief Officer of Police in accordance with Part III of Schedule 9 to the Act, hereby make the following Order:-

The effect of the Order is to introduce a no waiting at any time double yellow lines (DYL) on the following length of roads in Meopham, Gravesham:-

A227 WROTHAM ROAD – (1) On both sides remove the DYL between 1 Nevill Place, Wrotham Road and Fletchers and replace with a zebra crossing. (2) On the east side remove 4 meters of the existing limited parking bay outside 1 Nevill Place, Wrotham Road. (3) On the west side extend the existing limited parking bay by 6 metres in a southerly direction outside Sunningdale Court.

The Order was made on 19 December 2024 and its provisions will come into effect on 20 December 2024.

MAIDSTONE AREA

(VARIOUS TRAFFIC MOVEMENTS) (CONSOLIDATION) ORDER 2020
(AMENDMENT No.8) ORDER 2024

NOTICE is given that the Kent County Council under Sections 1(1), 2(1) to (3), 3, 4, 19, 65(1), 124 and Part IV of Schedule 9 of the Road Traffic regulation Act 1984 (‘the Act’) as amended of all other enabling powers, and having regard to Section 122 of the Act after consultation with the Chief Officer of Police in accordance with Part III of Schedule 9 to the Act, hereby make the following order:-

The effect of the made Order would be to introduce a one way system and a banned turn movement on the following length of road in Maidstone:-

HART STREET – From its southern junction with Barker Road to its northern junction with Barker Road (except cycles) travelling in a north then easterly direction. BARKER ROAD – No right or left hand turn movement permitted into Hart Street at the northern junction with Barker Road.

The Order was made on 19 December 2024 and its provisions will come into effect on 20 December 2024.

Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984

The effect of the Order is to place double yellow lines on the following length of road in Barming, Maidstone:-

SOUTH STREET - DYL – (1) On the east side from its junction with Tonbridge Road for a distance of 54 metres in a southerly direction. (2) On the west side from its junction with Tonbridge Road for a distance of 43 metres in a southerly direction. TONBRIDGE ROAD – DYL – On the south side between points 7 metres west and 14 metres east of its junction with South Street.

Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984

Notice is given that The Kent County Council, acting as the Local Traffic Authority, in exercise of its powers and under Sections 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 19, 32, 35, 36, 45, 46, 47, 49, 53, 124 and Part IV of Schedule 9 to the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (‘the Act’), the Traffic Management Act 2004 and all other enabling powers, after consultation with the Chief Officer of Police in accordance with Part III of Schedule 9 to the Act, hereby proposes to make the following order:-

The effect of the Order is to place double yellow lines on the following length of road in Maidstone:-

CASTLE ROAD - DYL – (1) On the northwestern side of the railway bridge on both sides of the road for a distance of 30 metres in a northeasterly direction (2) On southeastern side of the railway bridge on both sides of the road for a distance of 30 metres in a southwesterly direction.

(AMENDMENT No.10) ORDER 2024

Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984

Notice is given that The Kent County Council, acting as the Local Traffic Authority, in exercise of its powers and under Sections 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 19, 32, 35, 36, 45, 46, 47, 49, 53, 124 and Part IV of Schedule 9 to the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (‘the Act’), the Traffic Management Act 2004 and all other enabling powers, after consultation with the Chief Officer of Police in accordance with Part III of Schedule 9 to the Act, hereby make the following order:-

The effect of the Order is to extend a place double yellow lines following an experimental order on the following length of road in Maidstone:-

HART STREET - DYL – On the southeastern side (1) Realign the DYL from the northern junction with Barker Road. (2) Remove the SYL outside 17-29 for a distance of 28 metres and replace with time limited bays of 20 minutes with no return for 40 minutes Mon-Sat 8am – 6.30pm. (3) Remove the remaining 7.5 metres of SYL and replace with DYL’s.

This order was originally advertised as Variation 52 but due to the recent consolidation order it has been renamed as above.

The Order was made on 19 December 2024 and its provisions will come into effect on 20 December 2024.

ORDER 2023

Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984

NOTICE is given that the Kent County Council hereby make an Order under Sections 81, 82, 84 and 124 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which would be to extend the current 30MPH speed limit in East Farleigh, Maidstone on the following length of road:-

FORGE LANE – From junction with Vicarage Lane for a distance of 150 meters in an easterly direction. GALLANTS LANE – From junction with Wilsons Lane to junction with Heath Road. VICARAGE LANE – From the current speed restriction at its junction with Forge Lane for its entire length. WILSONS LANE – For its entire length.

The Order was made on 19 December 2024 and its provisions will come into effect on 20 December 2024.

Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984

NOTICE is given that the Kent County Council hereby make an Order under Sections 81, 82, 84 and 124 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which would be to reduce the existing speed limit to a 30mph speed limit in Otham, Maidstone on the following length of road:-

GREEN HILL – From its junction with Otham Street for a distance of 42 metres in a northerly direction. OTHAM STREET – For its entire length.

The Order was made on 19 December 2024 and its provisions will come into effect on 20 December 2024.

(CONSOLIDATION) (AMENDMENT No.10) ORDER 2024

Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984

NOTICE is given that the Kent County Council hereby proposes to make an Order under Sections 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 19, 32, 35, 36, 45, 46, 47, 49, 53, 124 and Part IV of Schedule 9 to the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (‘the Act’), the Traffic Management Act 2004, and all other enabling powers, after consultation with the Chief Officer of Police in accordance with Part III of Schedule 9 to the Act.

The effect of the Order is to introduce a no waiting at any time double yellow lines (DYL) on the following length of roads in Sittingbourne, Swale:-

ADELAIDE DRIVE – (1) On both sides from its junction with London Road extend the existing DYLs from the northern boundaries of 85 and 92 Adelaide Drive by 12 meters in a southerly direction.
