NOTICE OF MAKING CITY OF COVENTRY
(STONELEIGH ROAD & GIBBET HILL ROAD) (40MPH SPEED LIMIT REVOCATION) ORDER 2024
Notice is hereby given that Coventry City Council (“the Council”), under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (as amended), has made the above Traffic Regulation Order (“the Order”) which will come into operation on 16th December 2024.
The effect of this Order shall be to reduce the existing 40 mph speed limit on the following lengths of road:
i) Gibbet Hill Road, from a point 40m southeast of its junction with the access road formerly known as Cryfield Grange to its junction with Kenilworth Road (A429)’ and
Stoneleigh Road from the point where it enters the City of Coventry Local Authority (the City Boundary) to its junction with Kenilworth Road (A429) Removal of the above speed limits will mean that the said lengths of road will revert to being a 30mph national speed limit, by virtue of having Restricted Road status.
A copy of this Notice, the Order, plan and Statement of Reasons for making the Order may be inspected at the Council House (reception area) Earl Street, Coventry and on the Council’s website ‘www.coventry.gov.uk/tro’
Any person wishing to question the validity of the Order or of any of its provisions on the grounds that it or they are not within the powers conferred by the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (as amended) or that any requirement of that Act or of any instrument made under that Act has not been complied with, that person may, within six weeks from date the order was made, apply for the purpose to the High Court.
TEMPORARY TRAFFIC ARRANGEMENTS CANLEY ROAD, COVENTRY
Coventry City Council, under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, (as amended), intends to make a temporary Order, the effect of the Order would be to prohibit vehicles from waiting, loading or unloading, entering, proceeding along Canley Road between its junctions with Fletchamstead Highway and Nightingale Lane.
The Order would come into effect from 00:01 hours on Friday 20th December 2024 and is required to facilitate water connection renewal works on the highway to take place safely.
The maximum duration of the Order is eighteen (18) months or until the said works are completed, whichever is earlier. It is expected that the works would be completed by 17:00 hours on Friday 27th December 2024.
The specific closure times will apply as the signage indicates on site.
Exemptions would be provided for:
(a) anything done with the permission or at the direction of a police constable in uniform or civil enforcement officer in uniform;
(b) emergency service vehicles, local authority vehicles and statutory undertaker vehicles at the time of an emergency for that vehicle to have access to part of a street under restriction imposed by the Order;
(c) any vehicle being used in connection with the execution of the said works
(d) local vehicular access to Canley Road
Any vehicle waiting in contravention of any restriction imposed by the Order may be removed under the provisions of the Removal and Disposal of Vehicles Regulations 1986.

TEMPORARY TRAFFIC ARRANGEMENTS KNOLL DRIVE, COVENTRY
Coventry City Council, under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, (as amended), intends to make a temporary Order, the effect of the Order would be to prohibit vehicles from waiting, loading or unloading, entering or proceeding on Knoll Drive commencing from its junction with Leamington Road and continuing to its junction with Lupton Avenue.
The Order would come into effect at 00.01 hours on Monday 6th January 2025 and is required to allow Cadent Gas to replace the gas mains on the said road.
The maximum duration of the Order is eighteen (18) months or until the said works are completed, whichever is earlier. It is expected that the works would be completed by 17.00 hours on Friday 10th January 2025.
The specific closure times would apply as the signage indicates on site.
Diversion(s) for vehicular traffic would be as signed on site.
Exemptions would be provided for:
(a) anything done with the permission or at the direction of a police constable in uniform or civil enforcement officer in uniform;
(b) emergency service vehicles, local authority vehicles and statutory undertaker vehicles at the time of an emergency for that vehicle to have access to part of a street under restriction imposed by the Order;
(c) any vehicle being used in connection with the execution of the said works;
(d) local vehicular access to Knoll Drive
Any vehicle waiting in contravention of any restriction imposed by the Order may be removed under the provisions of the Removal and Disposal of Vehicles Regulations 1986.

TEMPORARY TRAFFIC ARRANGEMENTS KENILWORTH ROAD, COVENTRY
Coventry City Council, under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, (as amended), has made a temporary Order, the effect of the Order will be to prohibit vehicles from traveling at a speed exceeding 30mph along Kenilworth Road from Cannon Hill Road to its junction with A45.
The Order will come into effect from 00.01 hours on Friday 13th December 2024 and is required to facilitate the installation of a new pedestrian crossing and associated works to take place safely.
The maximum duration of the Order is eighteen (18) months or until the said works are completed, whichever is earlier. It is expected that the works will be completed by 00.01 hours on Friday 24th January 2025.
The specific restriction times will apply as the signage indicates on site
Exemptions will be provided for:
(a) anything done with the permission or at the direction of a police constable in uniform or
(b) civil enforcement officer in uniform;
(c) emergency service vehicles, local authority vehicles and statutory undertaker vehicles at the time of an emergency for that vehicle to have access to part of a street under restriction imposed by the Order;
