THE A1 TRUNK ROAD (STIBBINGTON TO WATER NEWTON, CAMBRIDGESHIRE)
SOUTHBOUND (TEMPORARY 50 MILES PER HOUR SPEED RESTRICTION) ORDER 2024
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that National Highways Limited(a) has made an Order on the A1 Trunk Road in the County of Cambridgeshire, because of the likelihood of danger to the public due to damage to the vehicle safety barrier and culvert wall at Water Newton.
The Order will come into force on 20 December 2024, and remain in force until repairs have been completed, or for a maximum duration of eighteen months whichever is the earlier.
The effect of the Order will be to impose, for 24 hours daily, in conjunction with narrow lanes, a temporary speed limit of 50 miles per hour on the A1 southbound carriageway, from a point 580 metres south of the centre point of Stibbington overbridge for a distance of 3350 metres.
The temporary speed limit (which will not apply to emergency service or special forces vehicles) will be clearly indicated by traffic signs.
