Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 Section 14(1) (Hammersmith Road) Temporary Prohibition Of Traffic
1. The Council of the London Borough of Hammersmith and Fulham hereby gives notice that in order to facilitate works to be carried out in the above-named road; it intends to make an Order the effect of which would temporarily prohibit traffic in the above-named road.
2. Whilst works are in progress, or whilst the authorised traffic signs or suspension signs are displayed, no person shall cause any vehicle to proceed, stop, wait, load or unload in the sections of Hammersmith Road and Lyon Road as set out in Schedule 1 to this notice.
3. Alternative routes for diverted traffic would be available.
4. Whilst works are in progress or whilst the authorised traffic signs or suspension signs are displayed, sections of bus lanes shall be suspended, and certain one-way traffic flow systems shall be temporarily revoked to allow two-way traffic flow as set out in Schedule 1 to this notice.
5. Exemptions would be provided in the Order to permit reasonable access to premises, so far as it is practical without interference with the execution of the said work and for works vehicles, any vehicle being used in connection with police, fire or ambulance purposes and anything done with the permission or at the direction of a police constable in uniform.
6. The Order would come into operation on the 8th January 2025 and would be valid for a maximum period of 18 months or until works are completed, whichever is the sooner.
7. Works will be part of a rolling programme between 8th January 2025 to the 31st March 2025. The dates specified are for guidance and informative purposes only and works may extend outside these dates.
