What is happening?

Essex County Council

(Crown Road & Navestock Side, Kelvedon Hatch)(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2024

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council has made the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Crown Road & Navestock Side, Kelvedon Hatch in the Borough of Brentwood, from the junction of Ongar Road to the junction of Royds Lane a distance of approximately 560m.

The closure is scheduled to commence on 6th January 2025 for 5 days, or where stated on a valid permit (EP201EH2369930 & EP201EH2377340 – Essex County Council). 

The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed onone.network.

The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while carriageway patching works are under taken by Essex County Council.

Alternative routes are available via : 

1. Ongar road, Brentwood Road, Stanford Rivers Road, Romford Road, London Road, Shonks Mill Road, Princes Road, Navestock Side and vice versa.

2. Dudbrook Road and vice versa (with access only into Dudbrook Road).

The Order came into effect on 4th December 2024 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.

(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic & Temporary Introduction of a Clearway) 

(High Street, Brentwood)(Temporary Suspension of 7.5 Tonne Weight Restriction) (No.15) Order 2024

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council has made the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

Effect of the order : 

1. To temporarily close those lengths of roads in the Borough of Brentwood as specified in the schedule to this Order.

2. A temporary ‘No Waiting, No Loading and No Stopping’ restriction will be introduced on both sides of carriage wayon the above lengths of roads for the duration of the closure to facilitate the works. Signs will be installed indicating when the No Waiting restriction will be in force.

3. To temporarily suspend the 7.5T weight restriction on High Street, Brentwood in the Borough of Brentwood, from its junction with Kings Road to its junction with In grave Road as cited in “The Essex County Council (A1023 High Street, Brentwood) (7.5 Tonne Weight Restriction) Order 2010” for the duration of the closures as per the schedule.

“The Essex County Council (Brentwood Borough) (Prohibition of Waiting, Loading and Stopping) and (On Street Parking Places)(Civil Enforcement Area) Consolidation Order 2019” will be temporarily amended to include the temporary ‘No Waiting at Any Time’ restriction and suspend any existing parking and waiting restrictions on the above lengths of roads only. 

All other restrictions and exemptions contained in the aforementioned Order and Amendments to that Order shall remain in force.

The works being undertaken will take place within an 18-monthperiod from 4th December 2024, exact dates will be specified onone.network. The roads will be closed to facilitate each phase of works and then re-opened to the public. 

Access will be maintained for emergency services. Diversion routes will be signed at each location and residents will be informed of the dates of each phase via letter / leaflet drop and advanced warning signs on the road. For all enquiries please contact our Contact Centre on0345 603 7631.
