ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 – SECTION 14
(ACKWORTH ROAD & PURSTON LANE, ACKWORTH)
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC & TEMPORARY REVOCATION OF WEIGHT RESTRICTION) ORDER (NO 1) 2025
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council of the City of Wakefield intend to make an Order on traffic management grounds for A1 improvement works to be carried out as follows:
ROADS TO BE CLOSED: Ackworth Road & Purston Lane, Ackworth from the Beverley Arms roundabout towards Pontefract. The Order shall also have the effect of closing any roads at their junctions the closed lengths of Ackworth Road & Purston Lane.
ALTERNATIVE ROUTES: Car Diversion – A639 Doncaster Road, Hardwick Road, Ackworth Road, Mill Hill Road, A645 Southgate, South Baileygate, Bondgate, Knottingley Road, A162 Great North Road southbound to Ferrybridge services roundabout. HGV Diversion – A6201, Wrangbrook Lane, A638 Hemsworth A1 Link Road, A628 Hemsworth Bypass, Pontefract Road, Barnsley Road then join A639 car diversion back towards A162 Great North Road back to Ferrybridge roundabout.
ORDER TO BE TEMPORARILY REVOKED: West Yorkshire Metropolitan County Council (Traffic Regulation) No.9 Order 2009, the section relating to A628, B6421, Ackworth Road/Purston Lane.
PERIOD OF CLOSURE: From and including 3rd, 5th & 6th January 2025 or until completion of the work, whichever is soonest.
Access to the premises on the closed length of road will be maintained whenever possible.
(BLEASDALE AVENUE, KNOTTINGLEY)
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER (NO 2) 2025
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council of the City of Wakefield intend to make an Order on traffic management grounds for the refurbishment of traffic signals to be carried out as follows:-
ROAD TO BE CLOSED: Bleasdale Avenue, Knottingley at the junction of Hill Top. The Order shall also have the effect of closing any roads at their junctions the closed length of Bleasdale Avenue.
ALTERNATIVE ROUTES: Forge Hill Lane, Belvoir Drive & vice versa.
PERIOD OF CLOSURE: From and including 6th January 2025 to 17th March 2025 or until completion of the work, whichever is soonest.
Access to the premises on the closed length of road will be maintained whenever possible.
