What is happening?

SECTION 14 - THE ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 NOTICE OF TRAFFIC ORDERS FOR TEMPORARY ROAD CLOSURES

Notice is given that SWINDON BOROUGH COUNCIL intend to make following orders:

(STR000969 Commercial Road, Swindon)

This Order is being introduced for THAMES WATER works and will impose prohibition of driving on Commercial Road rear No 10. Traffic to be diverted via Crombey Street, Dowling Street, Commercial Road and Eastcott Hill. The Order comes into force on the 20 January 2025 for 6 months, but the restriction is expected to be in place between 20 January 2025 to 10 February 2025. (STR000970 Cues Lane, Bishopstone) This Order is being introduced for OPENREACH works and will impose a prohibition of driving on Cues Lane between The Wyncies Cottage and Hegrest Ridge.

Traffic to be diverted via Cues Lane, High Street, Hockerbench and vice versa.

The Order comes into force on the 9 January 2025 for 6 months, but the restriction is expected to be in place between the hours of 9:30 to 15:30 hours on the 9 January 2025.

(STR000971 Ham Road, Wanborough)

This Order is being introduced for DEVELOPMENT works and will impose a prohibition of driving on Ham Road at the junction with Church Road, outside Calley Arms Public House.

Traffic to be diverted from the junction with Church Road to the road leading to Callas Hill, Callas Hill to Foxhill, turn right into the road leading to Liddington and right again to the road leading back into Wanborough.

The Order comes into force on the 17 February 2025 for 6 months, but it is anticipated that the restrictions are only required between 17 to 23 February 2025.

(STR000977 Fleet Street, Swindon)

This Order is being introduced for CRANE OPERATION works and will impose a prohibition of driving on Fleet Street at the junction of Fleming Way.

The Order comes into force on the 10 January 2025 for 6 months, but the road closure will only be in place on the following dates: 10, 20 and 28 January 2025 (STR000982 Old Mill Lane, Swindon) This Order is being introduced for THAMES WATER works and will impose prohibition of driving on the Old Mill Lane at the junction with The Planks.

Traffic to be diverted via The Weavers.

The Order comes into force on the 20 January 2025 for 6 months, but it is expected work will be taking place on the 20 to 28 January 2025.

(STR000988 Link Avenue, Swindon)

This Order is being introduced for CRANE OPERATION and will impose prohibition of driving on Link Avenue behind the Link Centre. Vehicles to be directed via the car park.

The Order comes into force on the 13 January 2025 for 6 months, but it is anticipated the closure will only be in place on the 13 January 2025 between the times of 8am to 5pm.
