ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984: SECTION 14
TEMPORARY CLOSURE AND SUSPENSION OF 7.5 TONNE WEIGHT RESTRICTION ON PART OF THE C450 IPSWICH ROAD AND THE B1113 IPSWICH ROAD, WILLISHAM AND NEEDHAM MARKET
Suffolk County Council Intends to make an order closing the C450 Ipswich Road, Willisham from Prospect Mouse to no. 2 to facilitate new telecommunications service. Other co-ordinated works may also take place during this period.
Access will be open for pedestrians and cyclists.
The diversion route will be Ipswich Road, Main Road Nettlestead, Main Road Somersham, Somersham Road Little Blakenham, Leather Bottle Hill, Somersham Road Bramford, the B1113,
the B1078, Willisham Road, Main Road Nettlestead, Willisham Hall Road and vice versa.
For the duration of this closure there will also be a temporary suspension of the 7.5 tonnes weight restriction on the B1113 Ipswich Road, Needham Market from the junction with Grinstead Hill to the junction with the B1078. It is intended that these measures will operate on 18/12/2024 from 9.30am - 2.30pm but, if necessary, the order may remain in force for 18 months (or longer if extended by the Minister). TEMPORARY CLOSURE OF PART OF THE C424 BERGHOLT ROAD, BENTLEY Suffolk County Council intends to make an order closing the C424 Bergholt Road, Bentley from no. 1 to The Briar to facilitate pole replacement works. Other co-ordinated works may also take place during this period.
Access will be open for pedestrians and cyclists.
The diversion route will be Bergholt Road. Capel Road, Station Road, the A137, the B1070, Straight Road, East End Road and vice versa.
It is intended that the closure will operate on 18/12/2024 from 10am - 4pm. If necessary, the order may remain in force for 18 months (or longer if extended by the Minister). Enquiries should be made to TBF Traffic. Tel: (01449) 490865.

SUFFOLK COUNTY COUNCIL (DISTRICT OF IPSWICH) (ROPE WALK) (B1075) (PROHIBITION OF MOTOR VEHICLES) ORDER 202-
Suffolk County Council proposes to make the above order under Sections 1 (1 [and (2), 2M) to (3) and Part IV of Schedule 9 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, the effect of which would be to prohibit motor vehicles from proceeding along a portion of Rope Walk (B1075) from the junction of Regent Street (U2464) to the junction of Dove Street (U2409), for a total of 86 metres.
Exemptions to the restrictions shall allow a vehicle for emergency purposes, and for fulfilling of statutory duties; for building, industrial or demolition works; for the maintenance, improvement or reconstruction of the road or if s services, for the removal of any obstruction to traffic; for the laying, erection, alteration or repair in or on land adjacent to the said length of road of any sewer or of any main, pipe or apparatus for the supply of gas, water or electricity or of any telecommunications system as defined in the Telecommunications Act 1984; if it cannot conveniently be used for such purposes in any other road, to be used in the service of a local authority or of a water authority in pursuance of statutory powers or duties; and authorised vehicles requiring access to the college for routine maintenance, repair, or service purposes. For avoidance of doubt, pedestrians and cyclists are still permitted to use this road.

SUFFOLK COUNTY COUNCIL (PARISHES OF MELTON AND BROMESWELL) UFORD BRIDGE ROAD) (A1152) (30 MPH SPEED LIMIT) ORDER 2024
On 04/12/2024, Suffolk County Council made the above order for the Parishes of Melton and Bromeswell under Section 84 and Part IV of Schedule 9 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, the effect of which extends the 3umph speed limit:
- on Wilford Bridge Road (A1152) from a point 208 metres southeast of the centre of the railway level crossing, heading in a southeasterly direction for a distance of approximately 241.00 metres to the Parish boundary of Bromeswell
- on Wilford Bridge Road (A1152) from the Melton Parish boundary (approximately 449.00 metres from the centre of the railway level crossing) in a southeasterly direction for a total distance of 154.70 metres to its junction with A1152 Orford Road and the B1083 Sutton Road.
A copy of the order, which comes into effect on 16/12/2024, may be seen with advance notice at the address below, 9am - 5pm Monday - Friday; also at Woodbridge Library, New Street, Woodbridge IP12 1DT, 10am - 5pm Monday; 9am - 6.30pm Tuesday; 9am - 5.30pm Wednesday and Thursday; 9am - 7pm Friday; 9am - 5pm Saturday and 10am - 4pm Sunday. If anyone wishes to question the validity of the order or of any provision contained in it on the grounds that it is not within the powers conferred by the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, or on the grounds that any of the requirements of that Act or any instrument made under it nave not been complied with in relation to the order, they may within six weeks of the date on which the order was made apply to the High Court for this purpose.
