NOTICE OF MAKING
ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984
LANCASHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL
(BERRY LANE, DERBY ROAD, KESTOR LANE, MARKET PLACE AND PRESTON ROAD, LONGRIDGE, RIBBLE VALLEY BOROUGH) (REVOCATION, PROHIBITION AND RESTRICTION OF WAITING AND LIMITED WAITING) ORDER 2024

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that on 28 November 2024 Lancashire County Council made the above Traffic Regulation Order under Sections 1, 2 and 4 of and Part IV of Schedule 9 to the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, the effect of which will be to:
1. Revoke the following:
a) The "Lancashire County Council (Ribble Valley Area) (On Street Parking Places, Prohibition and Restriction of Waiting) Consolidation Order 2009" insofar as it relates to:
i. Items (9)a)(ii), (9)b), (30)a)(ii), (30)a)(iii), and (66) of Schedule 10.01;
ii. Item (2) of Schedule 10.03;
iii. Item (1) of Schedule 11.075;
iv. Item (1) of Schedule 11.083;
v. Items (1)(vi) and (1)(vii) of Schedule 12.088.
b) The "Lancashire County Council (B6244 Preston Road, Longridge, Ribble Valley Borough) (Prohibition of Waiting and Bus Stop Clearway) Order 1993" in full.
2. Introduce a prohibition of waiting in the following lengths of road:
a) Berry Lane, Longridge, the north east side, from its junction with the centreline of Market Place for a distance of 23.5 metres in a north westerly direction;
b) Berry Lane, Longridge, the south west side, from a point 17.6 metres northwest of its junction with the centreline of Brewery Street for a distance of 8.1 metres in a north westerly direction;
c) Berry Lane, Longridge, the south west side, from its junction with the centreline of Market Place for a distance of 21.5 metres in a north westerly direction;
d) Derby Road, Longridge, the east side, from a point 9 metres south of its junction with the centreline of Towneley Road West to its junction with the centreline of Kestor Lane;
e) Derby Road, Longridge, the east side, from its junction with the centreline of Berry Lane to a point 24 metres north of its junction with the centreline of Warwick Street;
f) Market Place, Longridge, the north west side, from a point 27.5 metres southwest of its junction with Berry lane to its junction with the centreline of Kestor Lane;
g) Market Place, Longridge, the north west side, from a point 10.5 metres southwest of its junction with the centreline of Berry Lane to its junction with the centreline of Berry Lane;
3. Introduce a restriction of waiting Monday to Saturday between 8am and 6pm on Derby Road, Longridge, the east side, from a point 24 metres north of its junction with the centreline of Warwick Street to a point 9 metres north of its junction with the centreline of Warwick street.
4. Introduce a restriction of waiting Monday to Saturday between 9am and 6pm Berry Lane, Longridge, the north east side, from a point 10.5 metres south east of its junction with the centreline of Inglewhite Road to a point 23.5 metres north west of its junction with the centreline of Market Place.
5. Introduce a limited waiting parking place for 1 hour with no return within 2 hours Monday to Saturday between 9am and 6pm in the following lengths of road:
a) Berry Lane, Longridge, the south west side, from a point 4.3 metres northwest of its junction with the Centreline of Brewery Street for a distance of 13.3 metres in a north westerly direction.
b) Berry Lane, Longridge, the south west side, from a point 21.5 metres northwest of its junction with the centreline of Market Place for a distance of 19.5 metres in a north westerly direction;
c) Berry Lane, Longridge, the south west side, from a point 4 metres southeast of its junction with the centreline of Dunderdale Street for a distance of 18 metres in a south easterly direction;
d) Market Place, Longridge, the north west side, from a point 10.5 metres southwest of its junction with the centreline of Berry Lane for a distance of 17 metres in a south westerly direction.

This Order will come into force on the 13 December 2024. A copy of the Order, and all other relevant documents may be inspected during normal office hours at the offices of Ribble Valley Borough Council, Council Offices, Church Walk, Clitheroe, BB7 2RA, and at the offices of The Director of Law and Governance, Lancashire County Council, County Hall, PO Box 100, Preston PR1 0LD, and on Lancashire County Councils Website http://www.lancashire.gov.uk/ roads-parking-and-travel/roads/roadworks-and-traffic-regulation-orders/permanent.aspx, quoting ref: LSG4/894.16755/AFR. Any person wishing to question the validity of the Order or of any of its provisions on the grounds that it or they are not within the powers conferred by the Act, or that any requirement of the Act or of any instrument made under the Act has not been complied with, that person may, within 6 weeks from the date on which the order is made, apply for the purpose to the High Court.
