What is happening?

Essex County Council

(Rectory Road/Head Street, Rowhedge) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2024

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Rectory Road/Head Street, Rowhedge in the City of Colchester, from the junction with Fingringhoe Road to the junction with High Street a distance of approximately 1140m. The closure is scheduled to commence on 15th January 2025 for 3 days, or where stated on a valid permit (EP201EH2372843/EP201EH2372843A - Essex County Council). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while footway patching works are undertaken by Essex County Council.

An alternative route is available via Fingringhoe Road, Rowhedge Road, Marsh Crescent and vice versa.

The Order will come into effect on 12th December 2024 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.

(Skye Hall Hill, Boxted) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2024

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Skye Hall Hill, Boxted in the City of Colchester, from a point approximately 390m north west of its junction with High Lift Villas Road for a distance of approximately 20m in a north westerly direction. The closure is scheduled to commence on 13th January 2025 for 1 day, or where stated on a valid permit (BC008WF6CC45VLA01 - Openreach). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while poling works are undertaken by Openreach.

An alternative route is available via Skye Hall Hill, Dedham Road, Cooks Hill, Parsonage Hill, Church Street, Lower Farm Road and vice versa.

The Order will come into effect on 12th December 2024 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.

(Sladburys Lane, Clacton on Sea) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic & Temporary Introduction of a Clearway (No.15) Order 2024

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council has made the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

Effect of the order:

1. To temporarily close that length of road in the District of Tendring as specified in the Schedule.

2. A temporary 'No Waiting, No Loading and No Stopping' restriction will be introduced on both sides of the carriageway on the above length of road, for the duration of the closure to facilitate the works. Signs will be installed indicating when the No Waiting restriction will be in force.

"The Essex County Council (Tendring District) (Prohibition of Waiting, Loading and Stopping) and (On Street Parking Places) (Civil Enforcement Area) Consolidation Order 2019" will be temporarily amended to include the temporary 'No Waiting, No Loading and No Stopping at Any Time" restriction and suspend any existing parking and waiting restrictions on the above length of road only. All other restrictions and exemptions contained in the aforementioned Order and Amendments to that Order shall remain in force. The works being undertaken will take place within an 18-month period from 28th November 2024 exact dates will be specified on One.network.. The road will be closed to facilitate each phase of works and then re-opened to the public. Access will be maintained for emergency services.

Diversion routes will be signed at each location and residents will be informed of the dates of each phase via letter/leaflet drop and advanced warning signs on the road.

(Slough Lane/Carpenters Lane, Elmstead) (Temporary Introduction of One Way) & (Colchester Road, Elmstead) (Temporary Introduction of a No Left Turn) Order 2024

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

Effect of the order:

1. To temporarily introduce a one way restriction in that length of Slough Lane, Elmstead in the District of Tendring, from the junction with Colchester Road to the junction with Carpenters Lane, traffic to flow in a north easterly then south easterly direction only.

2. To temporarily introduce a one way restriction in that length of Carpenters Lane, Elmstead, in the District of Tendring from its junction with Slough Lane to its junction with Colchester Road, traffic to flow in a south easterly direction only.

3. To temporarily introduce a no left turn from Colchester Road into Carpenters Lane for the duration of the above one way restrictions only.

The restrictions are scheduled to commence on 6th January 2025 for 450 days, or where stated on a valid permit (EP20153079588/89 - Essex County Council). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The restrictions are required for the safety of the public and workforce while road construction works are undertaken by Essex County Council. The Order will come into effect on 12th December 2024 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.

(St John's Road, Colchester) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic & Temporary Introduction of a Clearway) Order 2024

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

Effect of the order:

1. To temporarily close the said length of St John's Road, Colchester in the City of Colchester, from both of its junctions with St John's Road Roundabout to its junction with Parsons Heath a distance of approximately 1495m.

2. A temporary 'No Waiting, No Loading and No Stopping' restriction will be introduced on both sides of carriageway on the above length of road for the duration of the closure to facilitate the works. Signs will be installed indicating when the No Waiting restriction will be in force.

"The Essex County Council (Colchester Borough) (Prohibition of Waiting, Loading and Stopping) and (On Street Parking Places) (Civil Enforcement Area) Consolidation Order 2019" will be temporarily amended to include the temporary 'No Waiting at Any Time' restriction and suspend any existing parking and waiting restrictions on the above length of road only. All other re-strictions and exemptions contained in the aforementioned Order and Amendments to that Order shall remain in force.

The works being undertaken will take place within an 18-month period from 12th December 2024, exact dates will be specified on one.network. The road will be closed to facilitate each phase of works and then re-opened to the public. Access will be maintained for emergency services. Diversion routes will be signed at each location and residents will be informed of the dates of each phase via letter/leaflet drop and advanced warning signs on the road.

An alternative route is available via Parsons Heath, Parsons Heath Roundabout, Harwich Road, Harwich Road Roundabout, St Andrews Avenue, Ipswich Road Roundabout, Ipswich Road, St Johns Road Roundabout and vice versa.

(Swan Road/Barkers Lane, Beaumont) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2024

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

Effect of the order:

1. To temporarily close that length of Swan Road, Beaumont in the District of Tendring, from a point approximately 200m north east of its junction with Thorpe Road for a distance of approximately 220m in a north easterly direction.

2. To temporarily close that length of Barkers Lane, Beaumont in the District of Tendring, from its junction with Swan Road for a distance of approximately 20m in a south easterly direction.

The closures are scheduled to commence on 13th January 2025 for 3 days, or where stated on a valid permit (EP02231012064 - Premier Tree Care Ltd). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closures are required for the safety of the public and workforce while tree cutting works are undertaken by Premier Tree Care Ltd.

An alternative route is available via Harwich Road, Landermere Road, High Street, Colchester Road, Tendring Road, Thorpe Road and vice versa (with access only into Swan Road and Chapel Road).

The Order will come into effect on 12th December 2024 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.

(Various Roads, District of Tendring) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic & Temporary Introduction of a Clearway) (No.19) Order 2024

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

Effect of the order:

1. To temporarily close those lengths of road in the District of Tendring as specified in the Schedule.

2. A temporary 'No Waiting, No Loading and No Stopping' restriction will be introduced on both sides of the carriageway on the above lengths of road, for the duration of the closures to facilitate the works. Signs will be installed indicating when the No Waiting restriction will be in force.

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

Effect of the order:

1. To temporarily close those lengths of roads in the City of Colchester as specified in the schedule to this Order.

2. A temporary 'No Waiting, No Loading and No Stopping' restriction will be introduced on both sides of carriageway on the above lengths of roads and those in the schedule for the duration of the closures to facilitate the works. Signs will be installed indicating when the No Waiting restriction will be in force.

(Wet Lane, Boxted) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2024

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Wet Lane, Boxted in the City of Colchester, from a point approximately 160m south east of its junction with Church Road for a distance of approximately 40m in a south easterly direction. The closure is scheduled to commence on 13th January 2025 for 5 days, or where stated on a valid permit (AD022-SPA-07333-060 - Anglian Water). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while access point reinstatement works are undertaken by Anglian Water.

An alternative route is available via Church Road, Boxted Church Road, Green Lane and vice versa (with access only into Wet Lane).

The Order will come into effect on 12th December 2024 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.

(Wormingford Road, Fordham) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2024

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Wormingford Road, Fordham in the City of Colchester, from a point approximately 560m south east then south west of its junction with Packards Lane for a distance of approximately 20m in a south westerly direction. The closure is scheduled to commence on 14th January 2025 for 1 day, or where stated on a valid permit (BC008PLT2325601613012024 - Openreach). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while pole testing works are undertaken by Openreach.

An alternative route is available via Wormingford Road, Plummers Road, Moat Road, Church Road, Mill Road, Fiddlers Hill, Porters Cottages, Wood Lane, Halstead Road, Fordstreet Hill, Ford Street, Halstead Road, Colchester Road, Station Road, Bures Road, Chappel Road, Hall Road, Colchester Road, Lower Road, Sandy Hill, Fordham Road and vice versa.

The Order will come into effect on 12th December 2024 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.
