What is happening?

HERTFORDSHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL:

(TEMPORARY CLOSING OF HILLFIELD ROAD, HEMEL HEMPSTEAD) ORDER 2024

NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of Hillfield Road, Hemel Hempstead from its junction with Marlowes north eastwards for a distance of approximately 65m (“the Road”), except for access.

An alternative route will be via Marlowes, Midland Road, Alexandra Road and Hillfield Road.

The Order is needed because utility service works are proposed to be executed on or near the Road. If the Order is made, it shall come into force on 12 January 2025 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Road.

(TEMPORARY CLOSING OF CATLIN STREET, HEMEL HEMPSTEAD) ORDER 2024

NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of Catlin Street, Hemel Hempstead from a point in line with the western boundary of No.5 Catlin Street south eastwards for a distance of approximately 16m (“the Road”), except for access.

An alternative route will be via Catlin Street, Roughdown Road, A4251 London Road, Russell Place and Catlin Street.

The Order is needed because utility service works are proposed to be executed on or near the Road. If the Order is made, it shall come into force on 10 January 2025 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Road.

(TEMPORARY CLOSING OF HEMEL HEMPSTEAD PUBLIC FOOTPATH NO.031 AND NO.134) ORDER 2024

NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all pedestrians from using Hemel Hempstead Public Footpath No.031 and No.134 from its junction with Piccotts End Lane north eastwards to a point in line with the western boundary of No.15 The Ridings, a distance of approximately 167m (“the Public Footpaths”).

An alternative route will be via the footway situated on the south side of Piccotts End Lane, the footway situated on the east side of Piccotts End, the footway situated on the north side of A4147 Link Road, the footway situated on the west side of Aycliffe Drive and Hemel Hempstead Public Footpath No.031. The Order is needed because utility service works are proposed to be executed on or near the Public Footpaths.

If the Order is made, it shall come into force on 13 January 2025 for a period of up to 6 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Public Footpaths.

(TEMPORARY CLOSING OF WATERSIDE, KINGS LANGLEY) ORDER 2024

NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of Waterside, Kings Langley from its junction with Tooveys Mill Close south eastwards for a distance of approximately 100m (“the Road”), except for access.

An alternative route will be via Mill Lane, The Nap, A4251 High Street, Church Lane and Waterside.

The Order is needed because utility service works are proposed to be executed on or near the Road. If the Order is made, it shall come into force on 10 January 2025 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Road.

THE HERTFORDSHIRE (CHESHAM ROAD, BERKHAMSTED) (RESTRICTED ROAD) ORDER 2024

ROAD HUMPS NOTICE (CHESHAM ROAD, BERKHAMSTED) ORDER 2024

NOTICE is given that the Hertfordshire County Council in order to improve road safety proposes under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 to introduce new speed limit restrictions in parts of Berkhamsted as specified in Schedules 1 and 2 to this Notice.

It is also proposed under sections 90A - 90F of the Highways Act 1980 and in accordance with The Highways (Road Humps) Regulations 1999, to install speed cushions in those lengths of Chesham Road, Berkhamsted as specified in Schedule 3 to this Notice.

Documents giving more detailed particulars of the proposals may be viewed from 11 December 2024 during office hours, at Main Reception, County Hall, Hertford, or on-line at www.hertfordshire.gov.uk/trafficorders by selecting Dacorum and looking at Ref: D02024.

SCHEDULE 1: 20 mph zone – those sections of road listed below and as set out in the Order and scheme plan – Parts of Chesham Road, Acacia Grove, Captains Walk, Beechcroft, Hilltop Road, St Edmunds, Plover Close, Robin Hill, Curlew Close, Kestrel Close, Falcon Ridge, Pheasant Close, Priory Gardens, Old Orchard Mews, St Margaret’s Close, Three Close Lane, Beech Drive, Victoria Road, Holly Drive, Sevens Close, Highfield Road, Curtis Way, Swing Gate Lane, Greene Walk, Woodlands Avenue, Oak Drive, Coram Close, Hazel Road, Sycamore Rise, Chestnut Drive, Briar Way, London Road, Londrina Terrace, Londrina Court, Hawk Place, Loring Road, Cloister Garth and Priory Court.

SCHEDULE 2: restricted road 30 mph speed limit – that section of road listed below and as set out in the Order and scheme plan – Part of Chesham Road.

SCHEDULE 3: Speed cushions – those sections of road listed below and as set out in the Order and scheme plan – Parts of Chesham Road (staggered in a pair)

(a) centred on a point 137 metres south west from the south western kerbline of Ashlyns Grove.

(b) centred on a point 149 metres south west from the south western kerbline of Ashlyns Grove. (laid in pairs)

(c)  centred on a point 50 metres south west from the south western kerbline of Ashlyns Grove.

(d) centred on a point 32 metres north east from the north eastern kerbline of Ashlyns Grove.

(e) centred on a point 123 metres north east from the north eastern kerbline of Ashlyns Grove.

(f) centred on a point 4.5 metres north east of the property boundary between Thornehill and Hollybank.

The speed cushions will be constructed and lit in accordance with The Highways (Road Humps) Regulations 1999 at a height of approximately 65mm above the existing carriageway with on/off gradients of approximately 1:8 and side gradients of approximately 1:5.
