LONDON BOROUGH OF BARNET

THE BARNET (FREE PARKING PLACES, LOADING PLACES, WAITING, LOADING AND STOPPING RESTRICTIONS) (AMENDMENT NO.*) ORDER 20)

THE BARNET (20MPH SPEED LIMIT) (NO. ) TRAFFIC ORDER 20*

SECTION 90A HIGHWAYS ACT 1980**

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council of the London Borough of Barnet propose to make the above-mentioned Order under sections 6 and 84 to the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and all other enabling powers.

  1. In order to address concerns about speeding, and to improve general road safety, the general effect of the Order would be to introduce a maximum speed limit of 20mph in the following roads/section of roads:

    • Goldsmith Road N11 – Entire length.
    • Kenner Road N11 – Entire length.
    • Hartland Road N11 – Entire length.
    • Ramsden Road N11 – Entire length.
    • Macdonald Road N11 – Entire length.
    • Stanford Road N11 – Entire length.

NOTICE IS ALSO HEREBY GIVEN that the Council of the London Borough of Barnet propose to make the above-mentioned Orders under Sections 6 to the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and all other enabling powers.

  • As part of a variety of measures in the borough to deter obstructive parking, improve sightlines, traffic flow and road safety, the general effect of the Order would be to introduce new lengths of ‘at any time’ waiting restrictions at the following locations below:

    (a) At the junction of Holly Park Road N11 and Glenthorne Road, at the junction of Holly Park Road and Carlton Road N11, at the junction of Holly Park Road and Parkhurst Road N11, at the junction of Holly Park Road and Beaconsfield Road N11, at the junction Goldsmith Road N11 and Kenner Road, at the junction of Goldsmith Road and Hartland Road N11, at the junction of Goldsmith Road and Ramsden Road N11, at the junction of Goldsmith Road and Macdonald Road, at the junction of Ramsden Road and Friern Barnet Road N11, at the junction of Macdonald Road N11 and Friern Barnet Road, at the junction of Friern Barnet Road and Stanford Road N11, at the junction Leadbeters Close N11 and Goldsmith Road N11 and at the junction of Goldsmith Road and Palmer Lane N11.

    (b) By upgrading lengths of existing waiting restrictions operating 8am to 6.30pm Monday to Saturday at the junction of Friern Barnet Road and Carlton Road and at the junction of Friern Barnet Road and Bellevue Road N11.

    (c) On the east side of Friern Barnet Lane N11 between No.6 and No.16 Friern Barnet Lane.

    (d) On the south side of Goldsmith Road N11 between No.66 and No.76 Friern Barnet Lane and Leadbeters Close N11.

  • FURTHER NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council of the London Borough of Barnet in exercise of powers conferred by Section 90A of the Highways Act 1980 proposes to introduce speed cushions or raised tables as follows:

    A copy of the proposed Orders, associated plan of the relevant areas and the Council’s Statement of Reasons for proposing to make the Orders can be obtained, inclusive for a period of 21 days from the date on which this notice is published, by emailing Highwayscorrespondence@Barnet.gov.uk or by writing to the Design Team, Highways Section, 2 Bristol Avenue, Colindale, London NW9 4EW.

    Any person wishing to object to or comment on the proposed Orders should send a written statement explaining their objection/comments, and quoting reference number RESQ24 (Friern Barnet Lane) SCR617 to the Design Team, London Borough of Barnet, 2 Bristol Avenue, Colindale NW9 4EW, via the Barnet TraffWeb website or via email to Highwayscorrespondence@Barnet.gov.uk within 21 days of the date of this notice.
