Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2024
On 11 December 2024 Surrey County Council made the above-mentioned Temporary Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in:-
- That length of C144 Maybury Hill, Woking that extends from its junction with B382 Old Woking Road, to its junction with D3731 College Road. Alternative route:- College Road, East Hill and Old Woking Road.
- The entire length of D3710 Park Road, Woking. Alternative route:- Pembroke Road.
This Traffic Order is required to enable Southern Gas Networks to carry out gas mains replacement and/or connection and/or maintenance works at the southern end of the temporary closure between Old Woking Road and “No.2 Cranley Court”.
These works are anticipated to be carried out between the hours of 7am and 7pm within 2 months of the 12 month period of operation of this Temporary Order that commences on 20 January 2025.
Advanced warning signs will be displayed and the temporary closure which is anticipated to be required for 24 hours each day, will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. Access for emergency services, pedestrians, cyclists and equestrians will be maintained at all times.
Access to affected residents and businesses will be maintained at all times via the alternative routes described above.
D3624 Barrs Lane, Knaphill
Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2024
Surrey County Council propose to make the above mentioned Temporary Traffic Order under Section 14(1) and 14(7) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 the effect of which will be to:-
(a) prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in the entire length of D3624 Barrs Lane, Knaphill;
(b) suspend the Order imposing a weight restriction on C12 High Street, Knaphill.
This Order is required to enable Surrey County Council to facilitate major maintenance works which is anticipated to be completed as soon as possible within the 18 month period of operation of this Order which will commence on 1 January 2025.
Advanced warning signs will be displayed and the temporary closure and suspension of the Order will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. In the event that it is necessary to restrict any access at any time under Section 3 of the Act, the road can only be closed for a maximum of 8 hours in any 24-hour period.
Any vehicle found to be obstructing the highway during these works will be removed to a suitable location outside the limits of the works after all reasonable methods have been undertaken to identify and contact the vehicle’s owner.
Access for pedestrians and cyclists will be maintained at all times. Access to premises within the affected length of road, including access for emergency service vehicles to these properties, will be maintained when safe to do so and if necessary via the signed diversion route.
Alternative Route – C12 Anchor Hill, C12 High Street and C11 Chobham Road.
