MANCHESTER CITY COUNCIL

TEMPORARY ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ORDER_ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 SECTION 14 (AS AMENDED)

Notice is hereby given that the City Council intends, in not less than seven days from the date of this Notice, to make the following Temporary Road Traffic Order(s):

ORDER NO. MCC141328598: The City of Manchester (Various Locations, Ancoats & Beswick Ward)(Temporary Prohibition of Vehicular Traffic, Temporary No Waiting/No Loading, Temporary One Way, Temporary No Right/Left Hand Turn) Order 2024 under s14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

The effect of the Order is to:

Schedule 1- No Waiting/No Loading at Any Time
Briscoe Lane from Ten Acres Lane to Railway Bridge on both sides, Ten Acres Lane from Briscoe Lane to Staplehurst Rd on both sides, Alan Turing Way from Briscoe Lane to Ashton Old Rd on both sides, Ashton New Rd Alan Turing Way to Bank St on both sides, Darley St from Ashton New Rd to Havana Close on both sides, New Viaduct Street from Phillips Park Rd to Broxton Street on both sides, Broxton St from New Viaduct Street to Bradford Rd on both sides, Phillips Park Rd from Rowsley St to Hillkrik Rd on both sides, Edwin Rd from Phillips Park Rd to Phillips Park Rd on both sides, Every Street from Merril St to Great Ancoats St on both sides.

Schedule 2 - Prohibition of Vehicular Traffic
Alan Turing Way from Briscoe Lane to Ashton Old Rd in both directions, Ashton New Rd at the junction of Bank St, Every St from the junction of Ashton New Rd to Great Ancoats Stt, Frost St from Ashton New Rd to Beswick St, Pollard St from Merril St to Great Ancoats St, Ashton New Rd from Alan Turing Way to Hillkrik St, Swallow St from Ashton New Rd to Cul de Sac End, Hillkirk Street from Ashton New Rd to Phillips Park Rd, Rowsley St from Ashton New Rd to New Viaduct St. All diversion routes will be signed locally.

Schedule 3 - One Way Merril
St from Frost St to Chessyre St in that direction (trams exempt), Edwin Rd from Phillips Park Rd to Phillips Park Rd, all diversions will be signed locally.

Schedule 4 - No Right/Left Hand Turn No Left hand turn from Sportcity Way onto Alan Turing Way, No left hand turn from Khymer Street onto Phillips Park Road, No Right hand turn from Alan Turing way onto Briscoe Lane, No Right Hand Turn from Sportcity Way onto Alan Turing Way, No Right hand turn from Alan Turing Way onto Sportcity Way, No Right hand Turn from Gibbon St onto Alan Turing Way, No Right hand Turn from Green CP onto Hillkirk Street, No Right hand turn from Edwin Road onto Phillips Park Road. All Diversions will be signed locally. The City Council is satisfied that traffic should be restricted/ prohibited for a duration of time as the Road Traffic Authority may decide is necessary and on those dates when the Co op Live Arena and Ethiad Stadium are in simultaneous use for entertainment/sports events, because of the likelihood of danger caused to the public by attendees of both events accessing and egressing both venues at the same time.

The order shall come into operation on 15th December 2024 and may remain in force for a maximum period of eighteen months. If all necessary works are completed within a shorter period, the Order shall cease to have effect at the end of that shorter period.
