EAST SUSSEX COUNTY COUNCIL

ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984

The East Sussex (Borough of Hastings) (Traffic Regulation) (Consolidation) Order 2013

(Junction Road and Part of Whitworth Road) Amendment Order 202* No.*

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that East Sussex County Council proposes to make the above Traffic Regulation Order under the relevant sections of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, and of all other enabling powers which will introduce a prohibition of driving and no waiting at any time restrictions in the following lengths of road:

Prohibition of driving in the following road in St Leonards-on-Sea:

Junction Road – from its junction with The Ridge West southwards for 101.3 metres.

No waiting at any time in the following roads in St Leonards-on-Sea:

Whitworth Road – northern side – from the eastern Queensway Gateway Road roundabout eastwards for 178.4 metres.

Whitworth Road – northern side – westwards from the junction with A21 Sedlescombe Road North for 51.4 metres.

Whitworth Road – southern side – from the eastern Queensway Gateway Road roundabout eastwards for 418.8 metres.

A copy of the proposed Order, plans showing the lengths of road and a statement of the Council’s reasons for proposing to make the Order along with a copy of the Order being amended can be viewed during opening hours at Hastings Library, Brassey Institute, 13 Claremont, Hastings, TN34 1HE and County Hall Reception, St Anne’s Crescent, Lewes, BN7 1UE on Monday to Friday between 9am and 4pm or online at https://consultation.eastsussex.gov.uk/economytransport-environment/queensway-gateway-tro/.

Any person wishing to make an objection or other representation concerning this proposal must do so in writing, together with the grounds on which it is made, to Communities Economy & Transport, Parking, B Floor, East Sussex County Council, County Hall, St. Anne’s Crescent, Lewes BN7 1UE or email TROs@eastsussex.gov.uk quoting reference TRO/505-A to arrive no later than 2 January 2025. This notice updates the notice previously given on 29 November 2024.

The East Sussex (U3093 Whitworth Road)

(30mph & 40mph Speed Limit) Order 202*

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that East Sussex County Council proposes to make the above Traffic Regulation Order under the relevant sections of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, and of all other enabling powers, which will impose 30mph and 40mph speed limits to the following lengths of road:

30mph Speed Limit

Whitworth Road From the eastern Queensway Gateway Road roundabout eastwards for 148.9 metres

40mph Speed Limit

Whitworth Road From the western Queensway Gateway Road roundabout eastwards for 238.8 metres to the eastern Queensway Gateway Road roundabout.
