What is happening?
SHROPSHIRE COUNCIL
TEMPORARY TRAFFIC REGULATION ORDER/S –
PUBLIC NOTICES OF MAKING
NOTICE is hereby given that Shropshire Council (“The Council”) have made an Order/s under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulations Act 1984 (as amended), the effect of which is to restrict the use of roads as stated below. The Order/s for regulation is/are required for the purpose/s as stated below. There are exemptions in the Order/s to permit pedestrian access (and/or vehicular access at the discretion of the Council or Statutory Undertaker) to any land or premises having a frontage to the said highway affected where there is no other form of access, and to any access allowing the necessary works to be undertaken. Access will be maintained for cyclists, pedestrians and dismounted
horse riders unless stated below. The alternative route/s for those affected by the proposal/s is/are as stated below.
The Order/s came into force on 9 th December 2024 and will remain in force for a maximum period of eighteen months (unless extended upon the direction of the Secretary of State) or until any said works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is expected that the Order/s will only be operative for the duration as stated below.
Description of restriction: Traffic will be prohibited from using Church Road, Alderton
Date & Duration: 9th December 2024 for 3 days
Purpose: Road Closure - Lay new gas main.
Alternative Route : Godings Lane, B5476, Unnamed road East, Unnamed South West
Description of restriction: Traffic will be prohibited from using Dutton Close, Stoke Heath
Date & Duration: 9th December 2024 for 5 days
Purpose: Road Closure - Lay new gas main to feed new development.
Alternative Route : Dutton Close
Description of restriction: Traffic will be prohibited from using London Road (service road),
Shrewsbury
Date & Duration: 9th December 2024 for 12 days between 09:30 to 15:30
Purpose: Road Closure - BT, road closure required for laying duct and to install small size joint boxes.
Alternative Route : London Road
Description of restriction: Traffic will be prohibited from using Oakfield Cottages, Brockton
Date & Duration: 12th December 2024 for 1 day
Purpose: Road Closure-National Grid-Tree trimming
Alternative Route : B4386, Unnamed road South West through Lower Wallop towards Rowley, Unnamed road South East through Hampton Beech
Description of restriction: Traffic will be prohibited from using Baveney Lane, Neen Savage (Wall Town Bridge)
Date &Duration: 9th December 2024 for 12 days
Purpose: Take down rebuild 15m of collapsing retaining wall. Using stone and new stone.
Sand and cement mortar mix. Repair drainage pipe.
Alternative Route : B4363, Unnamed road North, Baveney Lane
Description of restriction: Traffic will be prohibited from using Grooms Lane, Kemberton
Date & Duration: 9th December 2024 for 5 days
Purpose: Drainage repairs
Alternative Route : Mill Lane, Grooms Lane
Description of restriction: Traffic will be prohibited from using Unnamed road between Six Ashes and Batfield Lane
Date & Duration: 9th December 2024 for 5 days between 09:30 to 16:00
Purpose: Install kerbing to prevent flooding
Alternative Route : A458, Morfe Lane, Batfield Lane
Description of restriction: Traffic will be prohibited from using Unnamed road between Abdon and Ditton Priors
Date & Duration: 11th December 2024 for 1 day
Purpose: Road Closure-Severn Trent Water-Remove crowned patch and relay to correct profile
Alternative Route : Unnamed road North West through Tugford, Unnamed road North East through Holdgate, Unnamed road East, Ashfield road, Unnamed road South West
Description of restriction: Traffic will be prohibited from using Unnamed road between Brockton and Rowley
Date & Duration: 12th December 2024 for 1 day
Purpose: Road Closure-National Grid-Tree trimming
Alternative Route : B4386, Unnamed road South West through Lower Wallop, Unnamed road South East through Hampton Beech towards Brockton
Description of restriction: Traffic will be prohibited from using Unnamed road between Cefn
Einion and Bicton
Date & Duration: 13th December 2024 between 09:00 to 17:00
Purpose: Road Closure-National Grid-Tree trimming
Alternative Route : Unnamed road North, Unnamed road East towards Cefn Einion, Unnamed road South East
Description of restriction: Traffic will be prohibited from using Unnamed road between Duxmoor and Shelderton
Date & Duration: 10th December 2024 for 2 days
Purpose: Road Closure-Severn Trent Water-PRV Reset lid
Alternative Route : Unnamed road North West through Shelderton towards Clungunford, B4385, A4113, Unnamed road North through Wetmore, Unnamed road West
Description of restriction: Traffic will be prohibited from using Unnamed road from Bagley to Stanwardine
Date & Duration: 10th December 2024 for 5 days
Purpose: Road Closure - Works required to clear blockages, test road and rope, Subduct and Cable
Alternative Route : Unnamed road North West towards Lower Hordley, Unnamed road East,
Unnamed road South West through Stanwardine in the Woods
Description of restriction: Traffic will be prohibited from using Unnamed road through Melverley Green
Date & Duration: 9th December 2024 for 3 days
Purpose: Road Closure - Air Valve
Alternative Route : Unnamed road South, Unnamed road West and continuing North
Description of restriction: Traffic will be prohibited from using Unnamed road through Tyn-y-coed, Oswestry
Date & Duration: 9th December 2024 for 2 days
Purpose: Road Closure - Tree Felling
Alternative Route : Back Racecourse Lane, Unnamed road South West, Unnamed road West, Unnamed road North
Description of restriction: Traffic will be prohibited from using Unnamed road, Great Wytheford to Telford Boundary
Date & Duration: 9th December 2024 for 7 days
Purpose: Road Closure - Install approx 111m of new duct and cable section once installed.
Alternative Route : B5063, A53, Poynton road, Unnamed road East to Poynton Green
Description of restriction: Traffic will be prohibited from using A41 Tern Hill
Date & Duration: 9th December 2024 for 2 days between 09:30 to 16:00
Purpose: Surface Dressing Remedial Works
Alternative Route : A53, A51, A519, A41
Description of restriction: Pedestrians will be prohibited from using Footpath At The Oaklands, Shrewsbury
Date & Duration: 9th December 2024 for 3 days
Purpose: Footpath Closure - BT, to provide a safe working area for engineers to excavate to provide fibre service to a customer.
Alternative Route : The Oaklands
Description of restriction: Pedestrians will be prohibited from using Footpath Connecting Rock Lane Housman Crescent and Rock Lane, Ludlow
Date & Duration: 11th December 2024 between 09:30 to 15:30
Purpose: Footpath Closure-Openreach-To provide a safe working area for engineers to excavate and provide new ducting in footway
Alternative Route : Housman Crescent, Sandpits Avenue
