The Nottinghamshire County Council (Scarrington Footpath No.4) (Temporary Prohibition) Continuation Order 2024
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Nottinghamshire County Council HAS MADE an ORDER, under Sections 14 and 15(8) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be: To continue the effects of The Nottinghamshire County Council (Scarrington Footpath No.4)
(Temporary Prohibition) Notice 2024.
That Notice came into force on 19th November 2024.
The effects are that:- No person shall: - proceed on foot, in the following length of Footpath at Scarrington in the Borough of Rushcliffe: Scarrington Footpath No.4, from its junction with Scarrington Footpath No.5. to the field beyond the footbridge over Car Dyke, where it merges with Car Colston Footpath No.3.
AND NOTICE IS HEREBY FURTHER GIVEN that during the period of restriction the alternative route available for pedestrians will be as follows: -
Scarrington Footpath No.4, Main Street, Hawksworth Road, Scarrington Footpath No.2, Car Lane, Car Colston Bridleway No.5, Car Colston Footpath No.4, Car Colston Footpath No.22 and vice versa
IT IS INTENDED that the prohibition respecting the above highway or highways will apply as follows : -
To 18th May 2025 inclusive.
The Continuation Order will come into force on 10th December 2024 and any prohibition contained in the continued Order shall apply on that day and on any subsequent day or days when it shall be necessary for the prohibition to apply to enable works to be carried out and the Order shall continue in full force until the works it is proposed to carry out are completed The duration of this Order may be extended with the approval of the relevant Secretary of State.
The prohibition is required to protect public safety due to a damaged timber footbridge over the Car Dyke, and to enable repairs or replacement of the bridge.
