UNITE STUDENTS BUILDING - EXTERNAL FAÇADE REMEDIATION
GREAT EASTERN ROAD, & ANGEL LANE, STRATFORD E15 1FF
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER, 2024
The NEWHAM LONDON BOROUGH COUNCIL, hereby gives notice that it intends to make an Order, the Unite Students Building – External Façade Remediation (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2024, the general effect will be to close the north footway of Great Eastern Road, Stratford, E15, and prohibit vehicular and pedestrian traffic from proceeding or waiting on the public highway in Great Eastern Road or Angel Lane, E15 to allow works on or near the road.
The Order will be made to permit a full façade replacement to the building. The prohibition applies from Wednesday 25th December 2024 to Tuesday 23rd June 2026 or on completion of the works, whichever is the sooner.
Pedestrian access will be prohibited when the appropriate traffic signs are displayed in accordance with the Traffic Signs Regulations and General Directions 2016(c).
Where required pedestrian and vehicular access will be diverted via local adjacent footways and roads, one-way streets where necessary, may be reversed or reverted to two-way working, road closures, Bus Lane suspensions and parking prohibitions will apply when appropriate signs are displayed. Pedestrian access to premises will remain unaffected.
Nothing in this Order shall apply to vehicles being used for Fire, Ambulance or Police purposes, or with the permission or at the direction of a Police Constable in uniform, or a suitably Authorised Officer.
