What is happening?

The County Council of Durham

(Public Rights of Way Footpath No.12 Fishburn Parish, (Adj to Fishburn Airfield, Fishburn) (Temporary Footpath Closure) Order 2024)

The Council on 22/11/2024 made the above Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended, to prohibit all pedestrian traffic from proceeding on a 638 metre length of Footpath No.12 Fishburn Parish that extends east and south from 108 metres east of the southern access to West House Farm adjacent to Fishburn Airfield to enable solar farm development works to be undertaken.

There is no alternative route available to pedestrian traffic during the construction period. The maximum duration of the Order is 6 months. The proposed works are to commence from 1/12/2024 and anticipated to be completed in 6 months. On occasions, alternative dates for closure may be necessary and these will be signed accordingly.
