CONSOLIDATION AND PROVISION OF SPEED LIMITS) (ORDER 2024)

VARIATION ORDER NO. 1 202x

1. Westmorland and Furness Council hereby gives notice that it proposes to make the above Order under Sections 82, 83 and 84 to the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 ("the Act") and of all other enabling powers and after consultation with the Chief Officer of Police, in accordance with Part III of Schedule 9 to the Act

2. The effect of the proposed Order will be to amend the speed limits to enhance road safety at the following locations: -

a. Grayrigg, A685 Kendal to Tebay Road (Longtail Brow): Proposed extension of the existing 30mph speed limit.

b. Grange-over-Sands, C5042 Grange Fell Road: Proposed extension of the existing 30mph speed limit.

c. Hutton Roof, C5087 from the C5085 to U5414 via Hutton Roof: Proposed new 30mph speed limit on a currently unrestricted road.

d. A6, Milnthorpe to Levens: Proposed extension of the existing 50mph speed limit, including C5072, Leasgill. From the centre of its junction with A6 Princes Way, Levens Park.

3. Full details of the proposed Order, together with plans showing the lengths of road concerned, and a statement of the Council's reasons for proposing to make the Order, may be:-
