(Footpath OCH 17 and OCH 18 Wickwar Quarry, Charfield) Public Path Diversion and Definitive Map and Statement Modification Order 2024

On the 27 November 2024 South Gloucestershire District Council confirmed the above order. The effect of the order as confirmed is to divert that length of public footpath OCH 17 in the Unitary District of South Gloucestershire in the Parish of Charfield from its junction with public footpath OCR 13 at the Charfield/Cromhall Parish boundary at Point A (grid reference ST 7108 9092) running in an easterly direction across a field for a distance of 220m to meet The Downs at Point B (grid reference ST 7130 9096). 

Shown by a bold black line marked A – B on the map contained in the order; and that length of public path OCH 18 in the Unitary District of South Gloucestershire in the Parish of Charfield from where it leaves The Downs opposite public footpath OCH 17 at Point C (grid reference ST 7132 9097) running in a northeasterly direction across fields for a distance of 536m to where it meets public footpath OCH 19 at Point D (grid reference ST 7181 9113) shown by a bold black line marked C – D on the map contained in the order – OCH 17 to a line running from public footpath OCR 13 at the parish boundary at Point A (grid reference ST 7108 9092) curving in a southeasterly direction along the field edge via Point R (grid reference ST 7112 9087) and Point S (grid reference ST 7120 9082) for a distance of 168m before turning in an easterly direction and running parallel to the field boundary hedge for 155m to the field corner at Point T (grid reference ST 7136 9082) then turning south, crossing a culvert and the field boundary before running in a south-southeastly direction parallel to the roadside hedge for a distance of 180m to meet the adopted highway on The Downs opposite Churchend Lane at Point U (grid reference ST 7143 9066). 

The path has a width throughout of 2m and is shown by bold black dashes marked A – R – S – T – U on the map contained in the order; OCH 18 from the east side of The Downs, south of Churchend Lane at Point V (grid reference ST 7145 9066) running in a northeasterly direction immediately parallel to Churchend Road for a distance of 62m before deviating along the south side of a landscaped corridor on an enclosed, laid out path for 212m to the field boundary at Point W (grid reference ST 7167 9081). 

The path then turns north-northeast running alongside a hedge for 84 metres to Point X on the plan (grid reference 7171 9088) before curving around the south side of a pond for a distance of 90 metres to the field boundary at Point Y (grid reference ST 7178 9092), then continuing east-northeast for a distance of 82m to meet Devil’s Lane at its junction with Churchend Lane at Point Z (grid reference ST 7186 9095). 

The path has a width throughout of 2m and is shown by bold black dashes marked V – W – X – Y – Z on the order map. A copy of the confirmed order and the order map may be seen free of charge at Yate One Stop Shop (next to the Leisure Centre), Kennedy Way, Yate BS37 4DQ. Copies of the order and map may be bought at the price of £6.50. This order comes into force on the date which South Gloucestershire District Council certify that the terms of Article 2 of the order have been complied with but if any person aggrieved by the order desires to question its validity or that of any provision contained in it on the ground that it is not within the powers of above Act, or on the ground that any requirement of that Act or any regulation made under it has not been complied with in relation to the confirmation of the order, he or she may apply to the High Court for any of these purposes under section 287 of the Town and Country Planning Act 1990 within six weeks from the date on which notice is first published as required by paragraph 7 of Schedule 14 to that Act. 


Various Roads, Parkwall) (Prohibition and Restriction of Waiting) Order 2024

NOTICE is hereby given that on 27 November 2024 South Gloucestershire District Council made an order under sections 1(1), 2(1) to (3) and 4(2) of and Part IV of Schedule 9 to the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended the effect of which is to: a) prohibit vehicles waiting at any time (double yellow lines) in lengths of Access Road To Warmley Golf Club, Albany Way, Armstrong Drive, Barrs Court Avenue, Barrs Court Road, Belfry, Birkdale, Cadbury Heath Road, Causley Drive, Charlotte Mews, Chesters, Chiltern Close, Cloverlea Road, Coronation Road, Coronation Close, Davis Close, Earlstone Cresent, Fairlawn, Gleneagles Road, Great Dowles, Hampton Close, Hazelbury Drive, Heath Rise, Horsecroft Gardens, Johnson Drive, Lintern Crescent (Eastern Arm), Long Handstones, Mill Lane, Millbrook Close, Millfield Drive, Muirfield, Neads Drive, Newton Road, Park Crescent, Park Road, Parkwall Road, Poplar Close, Poplar Road, Quantock Close, Queens Road, Rogers Close, Roy King Gardens, St Davids Avenue, Stephens Drive, Stoneleigh Drive, Tanner Close, The Warns, Tower Lane, Tower Road South, Turnberry, Victoria Road, Wentworth, Wesley Lane, Woodward Drive and Wraxall Road, Parkwall;

b) prohibit vehicles waiting between the hours of 8am and 6.30pm on Monday to Saturday (inclusive) (single yellow lines) in lengths of Tower Road South, Parkwall;

c) restrict vehicles waiting between the hours of 8am and 8pm on any day, 20 minutes with no return within 40 minutes (limited waiting bays) in lengths of Victoria Road, Parkwall; d) vary further the South Gloucestershire Council (Kings Forest Area – South Gloucestershire) (Prohibition and Restriction of Waiting) (Consolidation) Order 2007, as varied, in so far as it relates to the lengths of road specified in item a) to item c) above, the provisions of which will be brought forward into the new order; e) revoke the South Gloucestershire Council (Kings Forest Area – South Gloucestershire) (Prohibition and Restriction of Waiting) (Consolidation) Order 2007, as varied, in so far as it relates to Gleneagles Road, Lintern Crescent (Eastern Arm), Tower Lane and Tower Road South, Parkwall the provisions of which will be brought forward unchanged into the new order; f) vary further the South Gloucestershire Council (Various Roads, North Common and Oldland Common Area) (Prohibition and Restriction of Waiting) Order 2018, as varied, in so far as it relates to the lengths of road specified in item a) and item c) above, the provisions of which will be brought forward into the new order; and g) revoke the South Gloucestershire Council (Various Roads, North Common and Oldland Common Area) (Prohibition and Restriction of Waiting) Order 2018, as varied, in so far as it relates to Albany Way, Chiltern Close, Cloverlea Road, Hazelbury Drive, Millbrook Close, Millfield Drive, Neads Drive, Poplar Close, Poplar Road, Quantock Close and Victoria Road, Parkwall the provisions of which will be brought forward unchanged into the new order. 

Exemptions in the order permit any vehicle to wait for the purpose of boarding or alighting; loading or unloading goods; Post Office services; maintenance of the road; supply of gas, water or electricity; the pursuance of statutory powers or duties; taking in petrol, oil, water or air from any garage; weddings or funerals and in accordance with the current provisions for vehicles which display a disabled person’s badge.

The order will come into operation on 5 December 2024 and a copy thereof together with a map, copies of any orders to be varied/revoked and a copy of the Council’s Statement of Reasons for making the order, may be inspected at Kingswood One Stop Shop, Kingswood Civic Centre, Kingswood during normal opening hours. 

Any person who desires to question the validity of, or of any provision contained in the order on the grounds that it is not within the relevant powers of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended, or on the grounds that any of the relevant requirements of that Act has not been complied with in relation to the order, may within six weeks after the date on which the order was made, apply to the High Court for this purpose.


(Hatters Lane, Chipping Sodbury) (Temporary Prohibition of Use by Vehicles) Order 2024

Notice is hereby given that South Gloucestershire District Council in pursuance of the provisions of section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended have made an order the effect of which has closed, temporarily, to vehicles that length of Hatters Lane which extends from Broad Street north eastwards for 70m. This order was required for the following reason: in connection with pole replacement works. 

The order became operative from 11 December 2024 for a maximum period of eighteen months. 

The closure however may not be implemented for the whole of the period but only when traffic signs are in position and only for so long as is necessitated by the works which are anticipated to be of a 1 day duration, between 9:30am to 3:30pm.
Alternative route: B4060 Broad Street, B4060 Wickwar Road, St Johns Way and vice versa.


(Willowherb Road, Emersons Green) (Temporary Prohibition of Use by Vehicles) Order 2024

Notice is hereby given that South Gloucestershire District Council in pursuance of the provisions of section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended have made an order the effect of which has closed, temporarily, to vehicles that length of Willowherb Road which extends from Hawthorn Way to Newlands Lane. This order was required for the following reason: in connection with speed table installation works. The order became operative from 10 December 2024 for a maximum period of eighteen months. The closure however may not be implemented for the whole of the period but only when traffic signs are in position and only for so long as is necessitated by the works which are anticipated to be of 5 days duration. Alternative route: Willowherb Road (part unaffected), Jenner Boulevard, Westerleigh Road, A4174 and vice versa.


(Swinhay Lane, Charfield) (Temporary Prohibition of Use by Vehicles) Order 2025

Notice is hereby given that South Gloucestershire District Council in pursuance of the provisions of section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended intends to make an order the effect of which will be to close, temporarily, to vehicles that length of Swinhay Lane which extends from a point 650m north west of New Street north westwards for 450m. This order is required for the following reason: in connection with overhead cabling works. The order will be operative from 9 January 2025 for a maximum period of eighteen months. The closure however may not be implemented for the whole of the period but only when traffic signs are in position and only for so long as is necessitated by the works which are anticipated to be of a 1 day duration, between 9:30am and 3:30pm. Alternative route: Huntingdon Farm Lane, Swinhay Lane and vice versa.

(Whitewall Lane, Thornbury) (Temporary Prohibition of Use by Vehicles) Order 2025

Notice is hereby given that South Gloucestershire District Council in pursuance of the provisions of section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended intends to make an order the effect of which will be to close, temporarily, to vehicles that length of Whitewall Lane which extends from Clay Lane eastwards for 125m. This order is required for the following reason: in connection with pole replacement works. The order will be operative from 9 January 2025 for a maximum period of eighteen months. The closure however may not be implemented for the whole of the period but only when traffic signs are in position and only for so long as is necessitated by the works which are anticipated to be of a 1 day duration, between 8:30am to 3:30pm. Alternative route: Whitewall Lane (parts unaffected), Gloucester Road, Crossways Lane, Clay Lane and vice versa.


(Public Footpath OCH/11, Charfield) (Temporary Prohibition of Use by Foot Passengers) Order 2025

Notice is hereby given that South Gloucestershire District Council in pursuance of the provisions of section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended intends to make an order the effect of which will be to close, temporarily, to foot passengers the entire length of Public Footpath OCH/11. This order is required for the following reason: in connection with the likelihood of danger to the public consequent upon Charfield Station construction works. The order will be operative from 6 January 2025 for a maximum period of six months. The closure however may not be implemented for the whole of the period but only when traffic signs are in position and only for so long as is necessitated by the works which are anticipated to be of 6 months duration.

Alternative route: Follow signed diversion.


(Yate Rocks, Yate) (Temporary Prohibition of Use by Vehicles,
Foot Passengers, Pedal Cycles and Equestrians) Order 2025

Notice is hereby given that South Gloucestershire District Council in pursuance of the provisions of section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended intends to make an order the effect of which will be to close, temporarily, to vehicles, foot passengers, pedal cycles and equestrians that length of Yate Rocks which extends from a point 165m north west of Gravel Hill Road north westwards for 110m. This order is required for the following reason: in connection with the likelihood of danger to the public consequent upon stop tap replacement and concrete plinth rebuild works on or adjacent to the highway. The order will be operative from 6 January 2025 for a maximum period of eighteen months. The closure however may not be implemented for the whole of the period but only when traffic signs are in position and only for so long as is necessitated by the works which are anticipated to be of 2 days duration. Alternative route: Yate Rocks (parts unaffected), Brinsham Lane, Wickwar Road, Gravel Hill Road and vice versa.


(Love Lane, Chipping Sodbury) (Temporary Prohibition of Use by Vehicles) Order 2025

Notice is hereby given that South Gloucestershire District Council in pursuance of the provisions of section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended intends to make an order the effect of which will be to close, temporarily, to vehicles the entire length of Love Lane. This order is required for the following reason: in connection with lead pipe replacement works. The order will be operative from 6 January 2025 for a maximum period of eighteen months. The closure however may not be implemented for the whole of the period but only when traffic signs are in position and only for so long as is necessitated by the works which are anticipated to be of 3 days duration. No alternative route available.


(Pillingers Road and Counterpool Road, Kingswood) (Temporary Prohibition of Use by Vehicles) Order 2025

Notice is hereby given that South Gloucestershire District Council in pursuance of the provisions of section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended intends to make an order the effect of which will be to close, temporarily, to vehicles the lengths of road specified in the Schedule to this notice. This order is required for the following reason: in connection with gas mains upgrade works. The order will be operative from 6 January 2025 for a maximum period of eighteen months. The closure however may not be implemented for the whole of the period but only when traffic signs are in position and only for so long as is necessitated by the works which are anticipated to be of 3 months duration. Schedule: 1. Pillingers Road – the entire length; 2. Counterpool Road – the entire length. Alternative route (vice versa) : 

1. Forest Road, Footshill Road, Counterpool Road; 2. Pillingers Road, Forest Road, Footshill Road.
