Maldon, Essex - Temporary Road Closures and Speed Limit Reductions

(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic, Temporary Introduction of a Clearway

& Temporary Introduction of 30mph Speed Limit)

Order (No.9) 2024

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

Effect of the order:

1. To temporarily close those lengths of roads in the District of Maldon as specified in the schedule to this Order.

2. To temporarily introduce a 30mph speed limit in those lengths of roads as specified in the schedule.

3. A temporary 'No Waiting, No Loading and No Stopping' restriction will be introduced on both sides of carriageway on the above lengths of roads and those in the schedule for the duration of the closures to facilitate the works. Signs will be installed indicating when the No Waiting restriction will be in force.

The Essex County Council (Maldon District) (Prohibition of Waiting, Loading and Stopping) and (On Street Parking Places) (Civil Enforcement Area) Consolidation Order 2019" will be temporarily amended to include the temporary 'No Waiting, No Loading and No Stopping at Any Time' restriction and suspend any existing parking and waiting restrictions on the above lengths of roads only. All other restrictions and exemptions contained in the aforementioned Order and Amendments to that Order shall remain in force.

The works being undertaken will take place within an 18-month period from 5th December 2024, exact dates will be specified on one.network. The roads will be closed to facilitate each phase of works and then re-opened to the public. Access will be maintained for emergency services. Diversion routes will be signed at each location and residents will be informed of the dates of each phase via letter/ leaflet drop and advanced warning signs on the roads.

(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2024

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council has made the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Rectory Lane, Latchingdon in the District of Maldon, from a point approximately 275m south east of its junction with Burnham Road for a distance of approximately 30m in a south easterly direction. The closure is scheduled to commence on 10th December 2024 for 1 day, or where stated on a valid permit (BC0080GEA14530769SB - Openreach). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while overhead cabling works are undertaken by Openreach.

An alternative route is available via Lower Burnham Road, Fambridge Road, Summerhill, Main Road, Burnham Road - B1018, Burnham Road and vice versa.

The Order came into effect on 21st November 2024 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.

(The Endway, Althorne)

(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2024

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council has made the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of The Endway, Althorne in the District of Maldon, from its junction with Dairy Farm Road for a distance of approximately 20m in a westerly direction. The closure is scheduled to commence on 13th December 2024 for 1 day, or where stated on a valid permit (BC008OGEA15179651SB - Openreach). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while overhead cabling works are undertaken by Openreach.

An alternative route is available via Burnham Road, Maldon Road, Church Road, Southminster Road, Burnham Road and vice versa.

The Order came into effect on 21st November 2024 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.
