Canterbury, Multiple Temporary Traffic Regulation Notices

What is happening?

Highways

Kent County Council, acting in exercise of its powers under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, makes or intends to make the following Orders.

CANTERBURY AREA

A2990 Thanet Way, Herne Bay, CT6 7QQ (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER DECEMBER 2024

To allow traffic light repair works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of A2990 Thanet Way, Herne Bay, from 9th December 2024, with estimated completion by 10th December 2024, between the hours of 19:00 and 05:00, or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed Westbound only at the exit from the Greenhill roundabout, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via A2990 Thanet Way, A291 Canterbury Road, A299 Thanet Way, Westbound Slip Onto Wraik Hill Roundabout, A290 Clapham Hill and A2990 Thanet Way.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.

 

Broomfield Road, Herne, CT6 7LY (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER DECEMBER 2024

To allow footway works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Broomfield Road, Herne, from 11th December 2024, with estimated completion by 17th December 2024, or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed from the junction with Hawe Farm Way to number 47, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Hawe Farm Way, Hunters Forstal Road, Gorse Lane, Broomfield Road and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.

 

Otham Close, Canterbury, CT2 7TR (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER DECEMBER 2024

To allow utility works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order prohibiting through traffic on Otham Close, Canterbury, from 11th December 2024, with estimated completion by 13th December 2024, or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed in its entirety, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

There is no alternative route for this closure, however, residential and emergency access will be maintained at all times when it is safe to do so.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.

 

Mill Lane, Bridge, CT4 5LX (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER DECEMBER 2024

To allow service works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Mill Lane, Bridge, from 9th December 2024, with estimated completion by 13th December 2024, or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed outside Little Bridge Place, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Mill Lane, Brewery Lane, High Street, Western Avenue and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.

 

St Augustines Road, Canterbury, CT1 3AT (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER DECEMBER 2024

To allow utility works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of St Augustines Road, Canterbury, from 29th December 2024, with estimated completion by 14th March 2025, or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed outside number 7, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Pilgrims Way, Pilgrims Road, Spring Lane, A257 St Martin’s Hill, Longport, Lower Chantry Lane, B2050 New Dover Road and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.

 

Sundridge Close, Canterbury, CT2 7FF (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER DECEMBER 2024

To allow trenching works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order prohibiting through traffic on Sundridge Close, Canterbury, from 11th December 2024, with estimated completion by 13th December 2024, or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed in its entirety, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

There is no alternative route for this closure, however, residential and emergency access will be maintained at all times when it is safe to do so.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.

 

Ulcombe Gardens, Canterbury, CT2 7TR (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER DECEMBER 2024

To allow excavation works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order prohibiting through traffic on Ulcombe Gardens, Canterbury, from 11th December 2024, with estimated completion by 3rd January 2025, or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed in its entirety, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

There is no alternative route for this closure, however, residential and emergency access will be maintained at all times when it is safe to do so.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
