What is happening?
The Borough Of Halton (Santa Dash Road Race, Various Roads, Runcorn And Widnes And The Silver Jubilee Bridge) (Temporary Prohibition Or Restriction Of Traffic) Order 2024
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that due to a special Event being held, Halton Borough Council intends to make the above mentioned Temporary Order under Section 16(A) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (as amended) by the Road Traffic Regulation
(Special Events) Act 1994.

* This includes closures at junctions of the following roads:
Widnes: West Bank Street, Waterloo Road (from number 12), Upper Mersey Road, Dock Street junction at Upper Mersey Road, Lower Church Street junction at Mersey Road, Queensway junction at West Bank Stree, Church Street junction at Mersey Road, Short Street, Wright Crescent junction at Mersey Road and Irwell Street, Irwell Street junction at Mersey Road, Oakland Street junction at Irwell Strreet, Cholmondeley Street junction at Irwell Street and Mersey Road junction at Irwell Street.
Runcorn: Queensway junction at roundabout, Bridgewater Street to junction at High Street, Greenway Road to junction at Okell Street.
**Access to properties adjoining to highways specified above will not be affected by the Order.
Reason for making the Order: the Council is satisfied that the Order is needed to facilitate the holding of an event known as ‘The Santa Dash Road Race’.
Effect of the Order: during such times and to such extent as shall from time to time be indicated by traffic signs no person shall cause or permit any vehicle to enter or proceed in or along the road.
Alternative Routes: suitably signed alternative route(s) will be provided.
Date Order to come into effect: 15 December 2024 at 0900 hours
Maximum duration of the Order: 3 days from the date the Order comes into effect.
