What is happening?
CITY OF BRISTOL (BACKFIELDS, ST. PAULS, BRISTOL) (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF WAITING) (TEMPORARY SUSPENSION OF PARKING PLACES) ORDER 2024
NOTICE is hereby given that the City Council of Bristol in pursuance of the provisions of section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended intend to make an Order the effect of which will be:
1. to prohibit, temporarily, any vehicle waiting in that length of Backfields as specified in the Schedule to this Notice; and
2. to suspend, temporarily, when appropriate signs are covered, the existing parking places operating within that length of Backfields as specified in the Schedule to this Notice, as a consequence of item 1. above.
The Order is required to alleviate manoeuvrability issues and enable access and egress to construction works being or proposed to be executed on or near the road and will be operative from 16th December 2024 for a maximum period of eighteen months. However, the restrictions may not be implemented for the whole of the period, but only as necessitated by the works (which are anticipated to take place between 16th December 2024 and 4th June 2026).
