Lower Willingdon / Eastbourne - Temporary Traffic Orders
What is happening?
EAST SUSSEX COUNTY COUNCIL
ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984
The East Sussex (U7756 Gorringe Valley Road, Lower Willingdon)
(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2024
To allow East Sussex Highways to carry out works, East Sussex County Council have made an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;
Temporary Road Closure
Gorringe Valley Road – from the junction with C341 Wannock Lane to the junction with A2270 Eastbourne Road.
A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic via A2270 Eastbourne Road – C341 The Triangle, Wannock Lane and vice versa.
The Order commenced 7 March 2024 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken on 2 December 2024 depending upon the weather conditions.

The East Sussex (C558 Royal Parade, Eastbourne)
(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2024
To allow BT Openreach to carry out works, East Sussex County Council have made an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;
Temporary Road Closure
Royal Parade – from the junction with U2161 Royal Parade to the junction with U2162 Beach Road.
A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic via C558 Royal Parade – U2160 Beamsley Road – A259 Seaside, Seaside roundabout – U2181 Lottbridge Drove – U2190 Sovereign roundabout – U2180 Royal Parade – C558 Royal Parade and vice versa.
The Order commences 4 December 2024 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken on 4 December 2024 depending upon the weather conditions.

The East Sussex (U2069 Den Hill, Eastbourne)
(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2024
To allow UKPN to carry out works, East Sussex County Council intend not less than seven days from the date of this notice to make an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;
Temporary Road Closure
Den Hill – from no. 31 to the junction with U2069 Burrow Down.
A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible.
The Order commences 16 December 2024 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken between 16 and 20 December 2024 depending upon the weather conditions.

The East Sussex (U2091 Salehurst Road, Eastbourne)
(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2024
To allow UKPN to carry out works, East Sussex County Council intend not less than seven days from the date of this notice to make an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;
Temporary Road Closure
Salehurst Road – from the junction with U2090 Green Street to the junction with C695 Victoria Drive.
A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic via U2090 Green Street – U2091 Dacre Road – C695 Victoria Drive and vice versa.
The Order commences 16 December 2024 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken between 16 and 19 December 2024 depending upon the weather conditions.

The East Sussex (A259 East Dean Road, Eastbourne)
(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2024
To allow MBNL to carry out works, East Sussex County Council intend not less than seven days from the date of this notice to make an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;
Temporary Road Closure
East Dean Road – from the junction with U2032 Upland Road to the junction with U2032 Pashley Road.
A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic via A259 East Dean Road, Church Street, High Street, The Goffs – A2270 Upperton Road, Willingdon Road, Eastbourne Road – A27(T) Lewes Road, Eastbourne Road – A26(T) Newhaven Road, Beddingham Road, New Road – A26 New Road – A259 Drove Road, The Drove, Seaford Road, Newhaven Road, Buckle bypass, Claremont Road, Station Approach, Clinton Place, Sutton Park Road, Sutton Road, Eastbourne Road, East Dean Road, Seaford Road, Friston Hill, Eastbourne Road, East Dean Road and vice versa. The Order commences 19 December 2024 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken from 22:00hrs to 05:00hrs on 19 and 20 December 2024 depending upon the weather conditions.
