What is happening?

Various Roads in Merrow and Burpham (20MPH and 40MPH Speed Limit) (Amendment and Part-Revocation) Order 202-
Surrey County Council propose to make the above-named Order, under Section 84 of and Part IV of Schedule 9 to the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (as amended) and of all other enabling powers, the effect of which will be to: –
1. Impose a maximum speed limit of 20 miles per hour on the lengths of road specified and described in the First Schedule to this Notice.
2. Impose a maximum speed limit of 40 miles per hour on the lengths of road specified and described in the Third Schedule to this Notice.
3. The Second Schedule to “The Surrey County Council Clay Lane (A3100/C14) and London Road (A3100)(30 MPH Speed Limit and 40 MPH Speed Limit)(Amendment) 2005” shall be amended so shall have effect as though -
(i) That part which imposes the maximum speed limit of 40 miles per hour in the length of A3100 Clay Lane described in the Second Schedule to this Notice is revoked so that the southern termination point for the existing 40mph speed limit in A3100 Clay Lane, Burpham is amended to: – the property boundary line between “Nos. 17 and 18 Churchfields”.
(ii) That part which imposes the maximum speed limit of 40 miles per hour in the lengths of A3100 London Road described in the Second Schedule to this Notice is revoked.
4. “The Surrey County Council New Inn Lane (B2234) Merrow Lane (B2234) and (B2234) Park Lane Guildford (50 MPH Speed Limit) Order 2005” shall be revoked in its entirety. NOTE – The lengths of road referred to in the Second Schedule to this Notice will then become subject to a 30mph maximum speed limit by virtue of the street lighting system currently provided on these lengths of road.
The speed limits proposed by this Order shall not apply to vehicles used by special forces in accordance with the Road Traffic Exemptions (Special Forces) (Variation and Amendment) Regulations 2011.

If you wish to object to, or make representations about, the proposed Order, including any in support, you must send them in writing, stating the grounds on which they are made,
a) using the online form via the webpage quoted above; or
b) to the undersigned, at Traffic Regulation Orders Team, Hazel House, Merrow Lane, Guildford, Surrey, GU4 7BQ, by 09 January 2025.
FIRST SCHEDULE
a) That length of D4012 Burpham Lane, Burpham that extends:-
(i) From a point 30 metres north-west of its junction with A3100 London Road, to its junction with A3100 Clay Lane.
(ii) From Streetlight N19, north-westwards to the end of the road at the north-western property boundary of “Burpham Foundation Primary School”.
b) The entire length of D4012 Churchfields, Burpha
c) That length of D4012 Howard Ridge, Burpham that extends from its junction with D4012 Burpham Lane to the property boundary line between “Nos. 12 and 13 Howard Ridge”.
SECOND SCHEDULE
a) That length of A3100 Clay Lane, Burpham that extends from the property boundary line between “Nos. 17 and 18 Churchfields”, south-eastwards to its junction with A3100 London Road at “the Clay Lane Roundabout”.
b) That length of A3100 London Road, Burpham that is comprised within its roundabout junction with A3100 Clay Lane “the Clay Lane Roundabout”, north-eastwards to the southern side of its roundabout junction with D4013 Great Oaks Park “the London Road Roundabout”.
(c) The length of B2234 New Inn Lane, Burpham that extends from the existing 30/50 terminal signs at the prolongation across New Inn Lane of the property boundary line between “Copse Edge” and “Nos. 1 and 2 Copse Edge, to its junction with B2234 Merrow Lane.
(d) That length of B2234 Merrow Lane, Merrow that extends from its junction with New Inn Lane to its junction with B2234 Park Lane.
(e) That length of B2234 Park Lane, Merrow that is comprised within the roundabout at its junction with B2234 Merrow Lane, D4036 Hareward Road and D4011 Merrow Common Road.
THIRD SCHEDULE
a) That length of B2234 Park Lane, Merrow that extends from the south-eastern side of its roundabout junction with B2234 Merrow Lane, D4036 Hareward Road and D4011 Merrow Common Road, south-eastwards to its junction with A25 Epsom Road.
b) That length of D4013 Merrow Lane, Burpham that extends from its junction with B2234 Merrow Lane and B2234 New Inn Lane, to a point 15m north-west of Streetlight N2 (excluding the D4013 Merrow Lane Service Road which will remain subject to a 30mph maximum speed limit by virtue of the street lighting system currently provided).
