What is happening?

PROPOSED INTRODUCTION OF JARROW ROAD CONTROLLED PARKING ZONE

Notice is hereby given that the Council of the London Borough of Haringey proposes to make the above-mentioned Orders under sections 6, 45, 46, 49, 51 and 124 of and Part IV of Schedule 9 to the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended.

The general effect of the Orders would be to:-

(a) Introduce the Jarrow Road Controlled Parking Zone (CPZ) and introduce parking controls operating between the hours of 8am and 6:30pm on Monday to Saturday on Jarrow Road N17, between the junction with Ferry Lane to a point approximately 100 metres northwest from the junction with Yarmouth Crescent, and to prohibit waiting by vehicles other than in the designated parking places provided during those hours.

(b) Designate resident permit holders only parking places operating at zone times within the extent of Jarrow Road N17 listed in section (a) above to this notice where vehicles displaying a valid residents parking permit or visitors' permit would be permitted to wait without time limit.

(c) Introduce loading restrictions operating at any time on the existing double yellow lines around the entirety of the bus shelter island on Jarrow Road N17 (north of the rail overpass) and on the east side of Jarrow Road N17, from the southern junction with the bus shelter access road in a southerly direction for approximately 34 metres (under the rail overpass).

(d) Introduce waiting restrictions operating at any time on the south and east side of the bus shelter access road on Jarrow Road N17 (adjacent to the bus shelter).

(e) To replace existing no waiting at any time restrictions on the west side of Jarrow Road N17 with 20 metres of 'pay by phone' only parking and 20 metres of shared use resident permit holders only/pay by phone only parking opposite the southern junction with the bus shelter access road where vehicles:-

(i) that have had a period purchased for them to be parked using the 'pay by phone' system would be permitted to wait for a maximum period of 2 hours with no return to that parking place within 1 hour of leaving it;

(ii) in the case of the shared use bay, vehicles displaying a valid residents parking permit or a visitors' permit would be permitted to wait without time limit.

(f) All other existing waiting restrictions within the proposed Jarrow Road CPZ area will remain unchanged.

Residents of the roads listed in the Schedule to this Notice (providing that their property is not part of a car free development) would be able to purchase parking permits and visitors parking permits, for passenger vehicles, goods carrying vehicles (the overall height of which does not exceed 2.27 metres and the overall length of which does not exceed 5.25 metres). Permits/vouchers for the controlled parking zone would only be valid in the zone for which they are issued.

PAY BY PHONE CHARGES: Jarrow Road CPZ will fall under Tariff band 2 (medium) - currently charged at £2.31 per hour (% diesel surcharge)

A copy of the proposed Orders, a copy of this notice, a copy of the Council's statement of reasons for making the proposed Orders and plan(s) showing the locations and effects of the Orders can be viewed via the online consultation portal https://consultation.appyway.com/haringey. Alternatively, an appointment can be made, by emailing traffic.orders@haringey.gov.uk to inspect these documents during normal office hours at the reception desk of Alexandra House, 10 Station Road, Wood Green, N22 7TR. Appointments to inspect the documents will be available until the end of a period of 6 weeks from the date on which the Orders are made or the Council decides not to make the Orders.
