Cimla Road - Temporary Prohibition of Vehicles For Subsequent Resurfacing Works

Cyngor Bwrdeistref Sirol Castell-Nedd Port Talbot (Cimla Road, Rugby Avenue And Ena Avenue, Neath) (Temporary Traffic Order) Order 2024
NOTICE is hereby given that Neath Port Talbot County Borough Council intend in not less than seven days from the date of this Notice to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (as amended).
The effect of the Order will be to temporarily prohibit vehicles from driving on the length of side of road set out in the Schedule below whilst the Order is in force. During such periods as are indicated by traffic signs informing the public that the length of side road is closed.
Whilst the Order is in force :
A) Vehicles are only permitted to proceed in a westerly direction along Cimla Road between its junctions with Beechwood Avenue and Eastland Road.
B) Vehicles are only permitted to proceed in a southerly direction along Rugby Avenue between its junctions with Cimla Road and Bilton Road.
C) Vehicles are only permitted to proceed in a northerly direction along Ena Avenue between its junction with Cimla Road and property number 17 Ena Avenue.
D) The 7.5 tonne weight restriction on Eastland Road will be suspended between its junctions with Briton Ferry Road and Cimla Road.
E) The 7.5 tonne weight restriction on the B4287 Pontrhydyfen will be suspended between its junctions with Tonmawr Road and Dan-Y-Bryn.
The Order is necessary to enable Wales & West Utilities to undertake Civil engineering works in the road and for the Highway Section to carry out any subsequent resurfacing works.
This Order will come into force on the 27th December 2024 and shall continue in force for 18 months, or until the works are completed whichever is the sooner. It is envisaged the works will take 1 week to complete.
SCHEDULE
Cimla Road Eastbound Lane will be closed from its junction with Victoria Gardens to its junction with Beechwood Avenue.
The alternative route for vehicular traffic will be via B4434, A474, A48, A4241, B4286 and B4287
Access for emergency services and the public will be maintained.
