SECTION 14 - THE ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 NOTICE OF TRAFFIC ORDERS FOR TEMPORARY ROAD AND FOOTPATH CLOSURES AND RESTRICTIONS
Notice is given that SWINDON BOROUGH COUNCIL made the following orders:
(STR000981 Haydon End Cyclepath)
This Order is made for THAMES WATER works to take place along the cycle path between Westmead Drive and Thamesdown Drive and will temporary impose a restriction on the following:
Cycleway including part of NCN45 - part of route between Public Footpath 15 West Swindon and Westmead to Barnfield Cycleway, Public Footpath 8 Haydon Wick - whole length from Chicory Close to Public Footpath 160 Purton at Borough boundary, Public Footpath 160 Purton - whole length from Public Footpath 8 Haydon Wick to Public Footpath 22 Central Swindon North, Public Footpath 22 Central Swindon North
- whole length from Public Footpath 160 Purton to Public Footpath 15 West Swindon, Public Footpath 15 West Swindon
- part of route between Public Footpath 22 Central Swindon North and Cycleway, Public Footpath 23 Central Swindon North
- part of route from Public Footpath 22 Central Swindon North to Sparcells cycleway, Public Footpath 20 Central Swindon North - whole length between Public Footpaths 21 and 22 Central Swindon North, Also to include the subway under Thamesdown Drive near the old canal.
Alternative Route - Cyclists to be diverted from the northern end of the closure:
Along the cycleway into Chicory Close and through Chicory Close to the cycleway to Purton Road, then along the footway of Purton Road and Akers Way to Cheney Manor Road, along Cheney Manor Road to Vicarage Road and along Vicarage Road to Bessemer Road West and then along Surrey Road to cross Ferndale Road to the cycleway opposite, along the cycleway to Iffley Road to cross Rodbourne Road and then along the cycleway alongside Great Western Way and Barfield Road to the southern end of the closure and in reverse from the southern end The Order comes into force on the 7 January 2025 for 6 months but it is expected works should be completed by 26 April 2025.
(STR000872 St Margarets Road, Swindon)
This Order is being introduced to allow works to SBC FOOTWAY IMPROVEMENT WORKS and will prohibit pedestrians from proceeding on footway and parking on St Margarets Road as indicated by signs. Pedestrians to use adjacent footway. The Order will come into force on the 25 November 2024 for 18 months but it is anticipated the restrictions will only be in place from the 25 November 2024 to 10 January 2025.
