What is happening?

The Council of the City of Salford has made the following Order under Section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

SALFORD CITY COUNCIL (BURY STREET AND CHAPEL STREET, SALFORD) (TEMPORARY ROAD AND CYCLE LANE CLOSURE) ORDER 2024

The Order will close-

Bury Street: From the junction of Chapel Street to the railway bridge on Bury Street.

Chapel Street Cycle Lane: on Chapel Street, at its junction with Bury Street, starting at the junction of Caxton Street for a distance of 35m.

The Order is necessary for essential works to be done.

Diversion route will be via Chapel Street - Blackfriars Road
Cross Street. Chapel Street - Trinity Way - Blackfriars Road -Cross Street.

The Order is intended to come into operation on Monday 2nd December 2024 and will remain in force for a maximum period of 18 months or until the works are completed if earlier. The works are expected to be completed by Friday 13th December 2024.

The closure will be in place 24 hours each day.

A copy of the Order and plan of the area may be examined at Swinton Gateway, 100 Chorley Road, Swinton, M27 6BP, Monday to Friday 9am to 6pm. If you are unable to attend in person, copies of the documentation may be requested via the email phlegal@manchester.gov.uk or the postal address below.
