What is happening?
HERTFORDSHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL:
(TEMPORARY CLOSING OF VARIOUS ROADS IN BROXBOURNE, BRAUGHING AND WARE) ORDER 2024
NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using the following lengths of roads (“the Roads”), except for access:-
1. that length of Woodhouse Lane, Broxbourne from its junction with White Stubbs Lane north westwards to its junction with Pembridge Lane, a distance of approximately 304m.
An alternative route will be via White Stubbs Lane and Pembridge Lane.
2. that length of Gravelly Lane, Braughing from its junction with B1368 Green End south eastwards, north eastwards, eastwards, north eastwards and south eastwards to its junction with The Street, a distance of approximately 500m.
An alternative route will be via B1368 Green End, Malting Lane and The Street.
3. that length of Bowling Road, Ware from its junction with B1004 Star Street north eastwards to its junction with Vicarage Road for a distance of approximately 308m.
An alternative route will be via B1004 Star Street, Cross Street and Vicarage Road.
The Order is needed because works are proposed to be executed on or near the Roads.
If the Order is made, it shall come into force on 16 December 2024 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Roads.

(TEMPORARY CLOSING OF B1037 STEVENAGE ROAD, WALKERN) ORDER NO.4 2024
NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of B1037 Stevenage Road, Walkern from a point 43m north east of its junction with the B1037 Fairlands Way/Gresley Way roundabout south westwards for a distance of approximately 43m (“the Road”).
An alternative route will be via B1037 (Stevenage Road/High Street/White Hill/ unnamed road), A507 (Baldock Road/unnamed road/Clothall Road), B656 Whitehorse Street, B197 (High Street/London Road), A505 Baldock Bypass, B197 (Jacks Hill/High Street/Gravely Road), A602 Hitchin Road, A1072 Martins Way, A1155 Verity Way and B1037 Fairlands Way.
The Order is needed because the replacement of an existing utility pole is proposed to be executed near the Road.
If the Order is made, it shall come into force on 16 December 2024 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Road.

(TEMPORARY CLOSING AND TEMPORARY WAITING RESTRICTIONS IN THE FORD, LITTLE HADHAM) ORDER 2024
NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of The Ford, Little Hadham from its junction with The Ash south westwards, southwards and south westwards for a distance of approximately 1359m (“the Road”), except for access.
An alternative route will be via The Ash, Standon Road, Stortford Road, Hadham Road, A120 Hadham Road, A1184 Bishops Park Way, B1004 (Great Hadham Road/Winding Hill), C15 (unnamed road) and The Ford or via The Ash, Standon Road, Stortford Road, Hadham Road, A120 Hadham Road, A1184 Bishops Park Way, B1004 (Great Hadham Road/Winding Hill), C15 (unnamed road), New Road and Chapel Lane.
ADDITIONALLY all vehicles are prohibited from waiting at any time on both sides of this length of the Road whilst works are in progress.
The Order is needed because works are proposed to be executed on or near the Road.
If the Order is made, it shall come into force on 16 December 2024 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Road.

(TEMPORARY 40MPH SPEED RESTRICTIONS ON WALKERN ROAD, WATTON AT STONE) ORDER 2024
NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from being driven at a speed exceeding 40mph on Walkern Road, Watton at Stone from a point 100m north west of its junction with Beane Road north westwards for a distance of approximately 175m (“the Road”), when signs are in place.
The Order is needed because construction works are proposed to be executed on or near the Road.
If the Order is made, it shall come into force on 16 December 2024 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Road.

(TEMPORARY TRAFFIC MANAGEMENT MEASURES ON VARIOUS ROADS IN PUCKERIDGE) ORDER 2024
NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect on the following lengths of roads (“the Roads”) will be:-
1. To prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of Station Road, Puckeridge from its junction with South Road north eastwards and south eastwards to its junction with Meadow Walk, a distance of approximately 325m except for access.
An alternative route will be via Station Road, High Street, Buntingford Road, B1368 Buntingford Road, A10 Puckeridge Bypass, A120 (Standon Hill/Kents Lane) and Station Road.
ADDITIONALLY all vehicles are prohibited from waiting at any time on both sides of this length of road whilst works are in progress.
2. The existing 7.5 weight restriction on Buntingford Road/High Street, Puckeridge from its junction with B1368 Wickham Hill south westwards, south eastwards, south westwards, south eastwards and south westwards to its junction with Station Road, a distance of approximately 472m will be temporarily suspended to enable all vehicles to use this length of roads, whilst works are in progress.
3. The existing 7.5 weight restriction on Station Road, Puckeridge from its junction with High Street south eastwards to its junction with South Road, a distance of approximately 325m will be temporarily suspended to enable all vehicles to use this length of roads, whilst works are in progress.
The Order is needed because works are proposed to be executed on or near the Roads.
If the Order is made, it shall come into force on 16 December 2024 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Roads.

(TEMPORARY CLOSING OF EASTFIELD ROAD, WALTHAM CROSS) ORDER 2024
NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of Eastfield Road, Waltham Cross from its northernmost junction with Southfield Road northwards to its junction with Northfield Road, a distance of approximately 320m (“the Road”).
An alternative route will be via Southfield Road and Northfield Road.
The Order is needed because the replacement of an existing utility cover is proposed to be executed on or near the Road.
If the Order is made, it shall come into force on 18 December 2024 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Road.

NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council has made the above Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using the following lengths of roads (“the Roads”):-
1. the A602 southbound slip road leading from A602 Watton at Stone Bypass, Watton at Stone from its junction with A602 Watton at Stone Bypass south eastwards to its junction with A602 Ware Road, a distance of approximately 316m.
An alternative route will be via A602 (Watton at Stone Bypass/Ware Road).
2. that length of A602 Tonwell Bypass, Hertford and A602 (Ware Road/Watton at Stone Bypass), Watton at Stone from its junction with the Anchor Lane/ B158 Wadesmill Road roundabout north westwards, south westwards, north westwards and south westwards to its junction with the A602 Hooks Cross/ High Street roundabout, a distance of approximately 2214m.
An alternative route will be via A602 Westmill Road, A10 (unnamed road), A414 (Rush Green Link/London Road/Gascoyne Way/Hertingfordbury Road/ Cole Green Bypass/ Hatfield Road/Hertford Road/Mount Pleasant Lane/Great North Road), the A1(M) and A602 (Broadhall Way/Hooks Cross) or via A602 (Hooks Cross/Broadhall Way), the A1(M), A414 (Great North Road/ Hertford Road/Hatfield Road/Cole Green Bypass/Hertingfordbury Road/ Gascoyne Way/London Road/Rush Green Link), A10 (unnamed road) and A602 Westmill Road or via A602 Westmill Road, A10 (unnamed road), A414 (Rush Green Link/London Road/ Gascoyne Way/Hertingfordbury Lane/Cole Green Bypass/Hatfield Road/Hertford Road), A1000 (Hertford Road/Chequers/ Broadwater Road/Bessemer Road/Mundells/Bessemer Road/Hertford Road/ Welwyn By Pass Road), B197 (Great North Road/Mardley Hill/ London Road/ Stevenage Road/London Road/Monkswood Way) and A602 (Broadhall Way/ Hooks Cross).
ADDITIONALLY all vehicular traffic is prohibited from being driven at a speed exceeding 30mph on that length of A602 Tonwell Bypass, Hertford and A602 (Ware Road/Watton at Stone Bypass), Watton at Stone from its junction with the Anchor Lane/B158 Wadesmill Road roundabout north westwards, south westwards, north westwards and south westwards to its junction with the A602 Hooks Cross/High Street roundabout, a distance of approximately 2214m, when signs are in place.
The Order is needed because works are proposed to be executed on or near the Roads.
The Order has been made and shall come into force on 2 December 2024 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Roads.

NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council has made the above Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of Cock Lane, Brickendon from its junction with White Stubbs Lane north eastwards and north westwards to its junction with Brickendon Liberty Public Bridleway No.028, a distance of approximately 820m (“the Road”), except for access.
An alternative route will be via White Stubbs Lane, Baas Hill, Baas Lane, Park Lane and Cock Lane.
The Order is needed because works are proposed to be executed on or near the Road.
The Order has been made and shall come into force on 2 December 2024 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Road.

(TEMPORARY CLOSING OF THE BUS/CYCLE LANE ON THE EAST SIDE OF B176 TURNERS HILL, CHESHUNT) ORDER 2024
NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council has made the above Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all public service vehicles and pedal cycles from using the bus/cycle lane on the east side of B176 Turners Hill, Cheshunt from a point 50m south of its junction with Windmill Lane southwards for a distance of approximately 102m (“the Bus/Cycle Lane”).
An alternative route will be via B176 Turners Hill.
The definition of a ‘public service vehicle’ has the same meaning as in Section 1 of the Public Passenger Vehicles Act 1981.
The definition of a ‘pedal cycle’ means a cycle powered only by foot or hand.
The Order is needed because bus shelter improvement works are proposed to be executed on or near the Bus/Cycle Lane.
The Order has been made and shall come into force on 5 December 2024 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the bus/cycle lane.
