HARROWDEN ROAD SERVICE ROAD, AND DUCHESS ROAD BEDFORD 24 – 096

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Bedford Borough Council intend not less than seven days from the date of this Notice to make an Order the effect of which will be to prohibit any vehicle, except a vehicle being used for fire, police or ambulance purposes in an emergency, from proceeding along Harrowden Road Service Road and Duchess Street, Bedford.

This temporary road closure is required to facilitate carriageway re surfacing, drainage repairs, and shall apply to such extent as may from time to time be indicated by the appropriate traffic signs. This temporary road closure is anticipated to be in operation 08:00 to 18:00 hours from 14th January 2025 to 29th January 2025

Residential access via Duchess Road will be unrestricted, except when resurfacing this junction on the 14th, 22nd & 23rd January 2025. During this time, temporary traffic lights will be in operation between 09:00 - 15:30 hours.

CLEAT HILL, BEDFORD (INCIDENT) 2024 – 130

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Bedford Borough Council has made an Order the effect of which will be to prohibit any vehicle except a vehicle being used for fire, police or ambulance purposes in an emergency, from proceeding along the length of Cleat Hill, Glenrose Avenue, and Wagstaffe Close. Road closures are in effect from the Kimbolton Road/Wentworth Drive junction with Cleat Hill to the junction of Bedford Road and Graze Hill. There is also a “Road ahead closed” sign at the crossroads in Ravensden, with diversions through Oldways Road, Ravensden Road, Hookhams Lane, and Wentworth Drive. Cleat Hill has been closed to traffic. Motorists are asked to take the signposted alternative routes.

•  The footway way from Douglas Road to Cleat Hill. are also closed These temporary closure(s) are required to facilitate the investigation of a natural gas incident and shall apply to such extent as may from time to time be indicated by the appropriate traffic signs. NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Bedford Borough Council has made an Order the effect of which will be to prohibit any vehicle except a vehicle being used for fire, police or ambulance purposes in an emergency, from proceeding along the length of Chequers Hill, Wilden junction with Colesden Road.

This temporary road closure is required to facilitate tree trimming and shall apply to such extent as may from time to time be indicated by the appropriate traffic signs.

This temporary road closure is anticipated to be in operation 08:00 to 18:00 hours from 9th December 2024 to 11th December 2024

Reason for Proposal:

Following a request from Ward Councillors, Bedford Borough Council proposes to introduce a new time limited parking bay in Pemberley Avenue, Bedford.

Effect of the Order.

1. To revoke the restricted loading bay and replace with a time limited parking bay “Mon - Sat, 8 am - 6 pm, 30 mins.

No return within 2 hours” as detailed below:

A  Pemberley Avenue, Bedford

(i)   On its southern kerb, extending from a point approx. 5 metres west of Kimbolton Road for a distance of approx. 25 metres in a westerly direction.

Relevant Proposal Documents may be examined during normal office hours at Borough Hall, Cauldwell Street, Bedford, MK42 9AP. They will also be available for viewing on the council’s website at www.bedford.gov.uk/proposedtro. The documents will be placed on deposit until six weeks after the Order is made or until it is decided not to continue with the Proposal. Reason for Proposal:

Bedford Borough Council has received a request from Ward Councillors for new parking restrictions at the junction of Purbeck Close with Heronscroft, Bedford This is in response to concerns raised over inconsiderate parking at these locations which affects visibility and safety, so these restrictions are intended to remedy that.

Effect of the Order:

1. To introduce ‘No waiting at any time’ restrictions (double yellow lines) on the following lengths of roads:

A   Purbeck Close, Bedford

(i)   On both sides, extending for a distance of approx. 11 metres from its junction with Heronscroft.

B   Heronscroft, Bedford

(i)   On both sides, extending from the projected centre of Purbeck Close for a distance of approx. 11 metres in a southerly direction and 11.5 metres in a northerly direction.

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that on 21st November 2024 Bedford Borough Council made the above Traffic Regulation Order, the effect of which is detailed below:- Effect of the Order:

1. To introduce ‘No waiting at any time’ restrictions (double yellow lines) on the following lengths of roads:

A    Honeysuckle Way, Bedford

(i)   On its northern kerb, extending from the west side of Riverfield Drive for a distance of approx. 10 metres in a westerly direction.

(ii)  On its southern kerb, extending from the west side of Riverfield Drive for a distance of approx. 27.5 metres in a westerly direction.

B   Riverfield Drive

(i) On its western kerb, extending from the centre of Honeysuckle Way for a distance of approx. 11 metres in both a northerly direction and southerly direction.

Date of Operation This Order will come into force on 25th November 2024 or as soon as practicable after this date.

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that on 21st November 2024 Bedford Borough Council made the above Traffic Regulation Order, the effect of which is detailed below:- Effect of the Order:

1. To introduce ‘No waiting at any time’ restrictions (double yellow lines) on the following lengths of road:

A    Cause End Road, Wootton

(i)   On both sides, extending from the projected boundary between nos. 33 and 35 Cause End Road for a distance of approx. 50 metres in a westerly direction.

B    Lorraine Road, Wootton

(i)   On both sides, extending from the junction with Cause End Road for a distance of approx. 20 metres in a northerly direction.

Date of Operation This Order will come into force on 25th November 2024 or as soon as practicable after this date.

NOTICE OF MAKING PUBLIC PATH CREATION AGREEMENT HIGHWAYS ACT 1980 SECTION 25

Bedford Borough Council Public Path Creation Agreement. Land owned  by Bedford Borough Council in the Ward of Harpur, Bedford between   Murdock Road and Footpath 11 Bedford Dated 28 November 2024

The abovementioned Agreement made on 11 November 2024 under Section 25 of the Highways Act 1980 has the effect of creating the public footpath described below:-

A public Footpath in the Ward of Harpur, Bedford that commences at the eastern end of the public road known as “Murdock Road” of the extent of Land Registry Title BD228969 at a point approximately 17 metres south-west of the property known as 55 Murdock Road, at Ordnance Survey Grid reference (OSGR) TL 0453/5177 then running in a generally south-east direction for approximately 12.4 metres and then in a generally east-north-east direction for approximately 33 metres and then in a southeast direction for approximately 25 metres where it connects to the unaffected part of Footpath 11 Bedford at OSGR TL 0459/5176.

Under Highways Act 1980 Section 25, there is no right of objection and the Agreement has taken immediate effect.
