Essex - Multiple Traffic Notices, Temporary Closures and No Waiting Restrictions
What is happening?
Essex County Council
The "Essex County Council (Colchester Borough) (Prohibition of Waiting, Loading and Stopping) and (On Street Parking Places) (Civil Enforcement Area) Consolidation Order 2019" will be temporarily amended to include the temporary ‘No Waiting, No Loading and No Stopping at Any Time’ restriction and suspend any existing parking and waiting restrictions on the specified length of road only. All other restrictions and exemptions contained in the aforementioned Order and Amendments to that Order shall remain in force.
The closure/restriction is scheduled to commence on 2nd December 2024 for 11 days, or when stated on a valid permit (EP201843280/EPT0252110 – Essex County Council). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure/restriction is required for the safety of the public and workforce while carriageway surfacing works are undertaken by Essex County Council.
The Order came into effect on 14th November 2024 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.
(Plummers Road, Fordham) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2024
Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council has made the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the Order:
To temporarily close that length of Plummers Road, Fordham in the Parish of Fordham, from its junction with Rams Farm Road for a distance of approximately 350m in a north easterly then north westerly direction. The closure is scheduled to commence on 2nd December 2024 for 2 days, or when stated on a valid permit (MTA47239 – Eclipse Power Networks Ltd). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while new supply works are undertaken by Eclipse Power Networks Ltd.Alternative routes are available via:

(Skye Hall Hill, Boxted) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2024
Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council has made the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the Order: To temporarily close that length of Skye Hall Hill, Boxted in the City of Colchester, from a point approximately 300m north of its junction with Dedham Road for a distance of approximately 80m in a north easterly direction. The closure is scheduled to commence on 2nd December 2024 for 5 days, or when stated on a valid permit (AD022-SPA-07333-057 – Anglian Water). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while access point reinstatement works are undertaken by Anglian Water.
An alternative route is available via: Dedham Road, Cooks Hill, Parsonage Hill, Church Street, Lower Farm Road and vice versa (with access only into Skye Hall Hill).

(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic & Temporary Introduction of a Clearway)
Order (No.28) 2024
Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council has made the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the Order:
- To temporarily close those lengths of roads in the City of Colchester as specified in the schedule to this Order.
- A temporary ‘No Waiting, No Loading and No Stopping’ restriction will be introduced on both sides of carriageway on the above lengths of roads and those in the schedule for the duration of the closures to facilitate the works. Signs will be installed indicating when the No Waiting restriction will be in force.
The "Essex County Council (Colchester Borough) (Prohibition of Waiting, Loading and Stopping) and (On Street Parking Places) (Civil Enforcement Area) Consolidation Order 2019" will be temporarily amended to include the temporary ‘No Waiting, No Loading and No Stopping at Any Time’ restriction and suspend any existing parking and waiting restrictions on the specified lengths of road only. All other restrictions and exemptions contained in the aforementioned Order and Amendments to that Order shall remain in force.
The works being undertaken will take place within an 18-month period from 14th November 2024, exact dates will be specified on one.network. The roads will be closed to facilitate each phase of works and then re-opened to the public. Access will be maintained for emergency services. Diversion routes will be signed at each location and residents will be informed of the dates of each phase via letter/leaflet drop and advanced warning signs on the roads.
