(AMENDMENT NO.20) ORDER 2024
NOTICE OF MAKING

Ashcroft Rd, Darnley Rd, Frittenden Rd, Gill Ave, Hawthorn Rd, Holly Rd (Strood), Holly Rd (Wainscott), Hollywood Lane, Leigh Rd, Pine Rd, Sir Thomas Longley Rd, Stour Close, Sycamore Rd, Wainscott Rd, Whitewall Road, Whitewall Way

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Medway Council on 25 November 2024 made the above-mentioned Order under sections 1, 2, 4, 32, 35, 37, 45, 46, 49 and 124 of, and Part IV of Schedule 9 to, the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended. The general effect of the Amendment Order, which comes into operation on 2 December 2024, will be to introduce lengths of waiting restrictions in roads within Strood and Wainscott as detailed:

1) Ashcroft Road – (a) North-east side, 33.4m north-westwards from Hollywood Lane junction to the dropped kerb before No.8; (b) South-west side, 16.8m north-west-
wards from Hollywood Lane junction alongside No.3;

2) Darnley Road – South-east side, (a) 35.5m outside Nos.165-173, (b) 59.5m outside Nos.135-151 (neither length affects adjacent parking);

3) Frittenden Road – (a) West side, 8.6m southwards from Gill Avenue junction,
(b) East side, 8m southwards from Gill Avenue junction;

4) Gill Avenue – (a) North-west side, 5.3m up to No.77’s dropped kerb from Holly Rd junction, (b) South-west side, 19.7m between Holly Rd and Frittenden Rd outside Nos.78 & 79, (c) South side, 10.8m between Frittenden Rd and Wainscott Rd junctions; (d) North side, 11.3m westerly from Wainscott Rd junction and outside No.1;

5) Hawthorn Road – North-east side, 8m north-westwards and 14.1m south-eastwards from Pine Rd;

6) Holly Road, Strood – Short term parking: 2 hours, no return within 3 hours, 8am– 6pm: East side, 10m parking bay north of No.49 (side of No.47);

7) Holly Road, Wainscott – (a) North-west side, 3.5m south-westwards from Gill Avenue junction,
(b) South-east side, 3.5m south-westwards from Gill Avenue junction;

8) Hollywood Lane – North-west side, (a) 10.7m south-westwards and 13.4m north-eastwards from Ashcroft Road (b) 8m south-westwards and 18.5 metres north-eastwards from Leigh Rd;

9) Leigh Road – (a) South-west side, 20m north-westwards from Hollywood Lane junction,
(b) North-east side, 74.5m north-westwards from Hollywood Lane up to No.2a’s dropped kerb;

10) Pine Road – (a) North-west side, 9m north-eastwards from Hawthorn Road junction to No.2’s dropped kerb, (b) South-east side, 9.6m north-eastwards from Hawthorn Road junction to No.1’s dropped kerb;

11) Sir Thomas Longley Road – (a) West side, 144m single yellow line operating Mon– Fri, 3.30pm – 6.30pm between Trident Close and Culpeper Close, (b) East side, (i) 37.1m single yellow line operating Mon – Fri, 3.30pm – 6.30pm northwards from Arnolde Close, (ii) double yellow lines from Arnolde Close southwards for 153.1m,
(iii) double yellow lines from the west-east arm (south-east of Ginsbury Close) in a
northerly direction for 257.9m to the XPO Logistics Rochester site entrance,
(c) North side of the west-east arm from the north-south arm in an easterly
direction for 55.7m,
(d) South side of the west-east arm from the north-south arm in an easterly
direction for 53.8m,
(e) South-west side, from its southern end in a north-westerly direction for 64.8m;

12) Stour Close – South and south-east sides, (a) 22.6m adjacent to No.31 River Drive, (b) 34.4m from the rear of No.2, alongside No.1 to the parking layby, (c) 9.1m on the corner leading towards the rear of No.24;

13) Sycamore Road – (a) South-west side, 17.4m on the corner by No.1, opposite Nos. 10 & 12,
(b) North-west side, 15.6m to the rear of No.1 opposite the park, (c) North-east side, 23.6m on the bend to the front of even Nos.6-10;

14) Wainscott Road – West side, 15.7m southwards and 3.1m northwards of Gill Ave junction;

15) Whitewall Road – (a) South-west side, (i) 46.7m south-eastwards from Whitewall Way, (ii) 26m north-westwards from the access to the sewage pumping station (next to Enterprise Business Estate), (b) North-east side, 25.6m between the two entrances opposite the side of No.29 Whiteway Way (j.d.m powder tech);

16) Whitewall Way – South-east side, 10m south-westwards from the junction of Whitewall Road.

Copies of the Order and of other documents giving more detailed particulars of the Order can be requested by sending an email to parkingdesign@medway.gov.uk or by writing to Parking Design team, Medway Council, Gun Wharf, Dock Road, Chatham, Kent, ME4 4TR before the end of a period of six weeks from the date on which the Order was made.

Persons wishing to question the validity of the Order or any of its provisions on the grounds that it or they are not within the powers conferred by the 1984 Act, or that any requirement of the 1984 Act or any instrument made under that Act has not been complied with, that person may, within six weeks from the date on which the Order was made, apply for the purpose to the High Court.
