Footpaths 36 And 40 Rochford
On 7 November 2024 Essex County Council confirmed the above order made under section 119 of the Highways Act 1980. The effect of the order as confirmed as shown on the order map will divert:
Footpath 36 Rochford
(i) A-B-C
A part length of Footpath 36 Rochford of unknown width shown by a bold continuous line on the order map commencing from the public highway known as Cherry Orchard Lane at point A close to the south east boundary of Cherry Orchard Farmhouse running in an east south easterly direction across access roads buildings and parking areas for a distance of 599 metres to point B at a point between business units then continues in first a south south westerly direction between business units and then a westerly direction alongside Aviation Way for a final distance of 405 metres to point C at the connection point to the proposed newly diverted footpath where it continues unaffected.
Footpath 40 Rochford
(ii) B-F
A part length of Footpath 40 Rochford of unknown width shown by a bold continuous line on the order map commencing from the aforementioned point B at its junction with Footpath 36 Rochford running in a generally northerly direction across buildings and parking areas and alongside fields for a total distance of 377 metres to point F where it meets Footpath 40 and continues unaffected. The following alternative routes will be provided:
(i) D-E-F
A footpath being 2 metres in width shown by a bold broken line on the order map commencing at point D where it connects to Cherry Orchard Lane approximately 58 metres south of the current connection point running in an east north easterly direction along a surfaced path for a distance of 244 metres to point E located at a point between balancing ponds then continuing in a generally north easterly direction along surfaced paths around parking areas and around a field edge for a final distance of 626 metres to the aforementioned point F where it continues unaffected.
(ii) C-E
A footpath being 2 metres in width shown by a bold broken line on the order map commencing at the aforementioned point C running in a northerly direction along a surfaced path for a total distance of 196 metres where it meets the proposed newly diverted footpath at the aforementioned point E.

Documents can be made available for inspection 8.30am-4.30pm Mon-Fri at Essex County Council, County Hall, E block main reception, Market Road, Chelmsford if so required following the current social distancing restrictions. Copies of the order and order map are available on Essex Highways website at: https://www.essexhighways.org/public-path-notices and have also been sent to Rochford District Council and Rochford Parish Council.
The alternative route will come into force on 5 December 2024 and the old route shall be stopped up with effect from 12 December 2024, but if a person aggrieved by the orders wants to question their validity, or that of any provision contained in them, on the ground that it is not within the powers of the Highways Act 1980, as amended, or on the ground that any requirement of the Act, as amended, or of any regulation made under the Act has not been complied with in relation to the Orders, he or she may, under paragraph 2 of Schedule 2 to the Act as applied by paragraph 5 of Schedule 6 to the Act, within 6 weeks from 21 November 2024 make an application to the High Court.
(Furtherwick Road, Canvey Island)
(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2024
Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Furtherwick Road, Canvey Island in the Borough of Castle Point, from the junction with Furtherwick Road Roundabout for a distance of approximately 200m in an easterly then southerly direction to the point where the road name changes to Eastern Esplanade. The closure is scheduled to commence on 16th December 2024 for 3 nights (20:00-05:00), or where stated on a valid permit (EP201EH2374869 - Essex County Council). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while works are undertaken by Essex County Council.
An alternative route is available via Eastern Esplanade, May Avenue, Sprundel Avenue, Handel Road, Odessa Road, Florence Road, High Street, Foksville Road, Furtherwick Road and vice versa.
The Order will come into effect on 28th November 2024 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.
(Markhams Chase, Basildon)
(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2024
Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Markhams Chase, Basildon in the Borough of Basildon, from its junction with Great Knightleys for a distance of approximately 30m in a north westerly direction. The closure is scheduled to commence on 20th December 2024 for 1 day, or where stated on a valid permit (EP201EH2377131 - Essex County Council). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while carriageway patching works are undertaken by Essex County Council.
An alternative route is available via Great Knightleys, Ballards Walk, Markhams Chase and vice versa.
The Order will come into effect on 28th November 2024 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.
(Maurice Road, Canvey Island)
(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic & Temporary Introduction of a Clearway)
Order 2024
Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order:
1. To temporarily close that length of Maurice Road, Canvey Island in the Borough of Castle Point, from its junction with High Street to its junction with Eastern Esplanade a distance of approximately 915m.
2. A temporary "No Waiting, No Loading and No Stopping' restriction will be introduced on both sides of carriageway on the above length of road for the duration of the closure to facilitate the works. Signs will be installed indicating when the No Waiting restriction will be in force.
"The Essex County Council (Castle Point Borough) (Prohibition of Waiting, Loading and Stopping) and (On Street Parking Places) (Civil Enforcement Area) Consolidation Order 2019" will be temporarily amended to include the temporary 'No Waiting at Any Time' restriction and suspend any existing parking and waiting restrictions on the above length of road only. All other restrictions and exemptions contained in the aforementioned Order and Amendments to that Order shall remain in force.
The works being undertaken will take place within an 18-month period from 28th November 2024, exact dates will be specified on One.network. The roads will be closed to facilitate each phase of works and then re-opened to the public. Access will be maintained for emergency services. Diversion routes will be signed at each location and residents will be informed of the dates of each phase via letter/leaflet drop and advanced warning signs on the road.
An alternative route is available via High Street, Marcos Road, Crescent Road, Lottem Road, Eastern Esplanade and vice versa.

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order:
1. To temporarily close that length of road in the Borough of Basildon & Borough of Castle Point as specified in the schedule to this Order.
2. A temporary 'No Waiting, No Loading and No Stopping' restriction will be introduced on both sides of carriageway on the above length of road for the duration of the closure to facilitate the works. Signs will be installed indicating when the No Waiting restriction will be in force.

(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2024
Notice is hereby given
that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of The Chase, Benfleet in the Borough of Castle Point, from its junction with Hackamore to its junction with The Canters a distance of approximately 80m. The closure is scheduled to commence on 17th December 2024 for 1 day, or where stated on a valid permit (BC0080GEA14437463SB – Openreach).
The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while new connection works are undertaken by Openreach.
An alternative route is available via The Chase, Corasway, Martingale, Hackamore and vice versa.
The Order will come into effect on 28th November 2024 and may continue in force for
18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.

(No.8) Order 2024
Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order:
- To temporarily close those lengths of roads in the District of Rochford as specified in the schedule to this Order.
- A temporary ‘No Waiting, No Loading and No Stopping’ restriction will be introduced on both sides of carriageway on the above lengths of roads for the duration of the closure to facilitate the works. Signs will be installed indicating when the No Waiting restriction will be in force.
"The Essex County Council (Rochford District) (Prohibition of Waiting, Loading and Stopping) and (On Street Parking Places) (Civil Enforcement Area) Consolidation Order 2019" will be temporarily amended to include the temporary ‘No Waiting at Any Time’ restriction and suspend any existing parking and waiting restrictions on the above lengths of roads only. All other restrictions and exemptions contained in the aforementioned Order and Amendments to that Order shall remain in force.
