Essex - Multiple Temporary Road Closures and Traffic Restrictions

What is happening?

Essex County Council

(Fallowden Lane, Ashdon)

(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2024

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Fallowden Lane, Ashdon in the District of Uttlesford, from a point approximately 385m north west of its junction with for a distance of approximately 35m in a north westerly direction. The closure is scheduled to commence on 18th December 2024 for 3 days, or where stated on a valid permit (MX04410250944 - Affinity Water). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while stop tap and boundary box installation works are undertaken by Affinity Water.

No alternative route is available.

The Order will come into effect on 28th November 2024 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.

(High Street, Little Chesterford)

(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2024

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of High Street, Little Chesterford in the District of Uttlesford, from its junction with Cambridge Road for a distance of approximately 240m in a north easterly then south easterly direction. The closure is scheduled to commence on 16th December 2024 for 5 days, or where stated on a valid permit (EC30020882537 - UK Power Networks). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while new connection works are undertaken by UK Power Networks.

An alternative route is available via Walden Road, Walden Road Roundabout East, Newmarket Road, London Road and vice versa (with access only into High Street).

The Order will come into effect on 28th November 2024 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.

(Hollow Road, Chrishall)

(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2024

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Hollow Road, Chrishall in the District of Uttlesford, from a point approximately 40m north east of its junction with Royston Road for a distance of approximately 65m in a north easterly direction. The closure is scheduled to commence on 19th December 2024 for 5 days, or where stated on a valid permit (MX04410251369 - Affinity Water). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while hydrant replacement works are undertaken by Affinity Water.

An alternative route is available via Royston Road, Bury Lane, Church Road and vice versa (with access only into The Green, High Street and Hollow Road).

The Order will come into effect on 28th November 2024 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.

(Station Road, Elsenham)

(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic & Temporary Introduction of a Clearway) Order 2024

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

Effect of the order:

1. To temporarily close that length of Station Road, Elsenham in the District of Uttlesford, from its junction with Stansted Road to its junction with New Road a distance of approximately 685m.

2. A temporary 'No Waiting, No Loading and No Stopping' restriction will be introduced on both sides of carriageway on the above length of road for the duration of the closure to facilitate the works. Signs will be installed indicating when the No Waiting restriction will be in force.

"The Essex County Council (Uttlesford District) (Prohibition of Waiting, Loading and Stopping) and (On Street Parking Places) (Civil Enforcement Area) Consolidation Order 2019" will be temporarily amended to include the temporary 'No Waiting, No Loading and No Stopping at Any Time' restriction and suspend any existing parking and waiting restrictions on the above length of road only. All other restrictions and exemptions contained in the aforementioned Order and Amendments to that Order shall remain in force.

The works being undertaken will take place within an 18-month period from 28th November 2024, exact dates will be specified on One.network. The road will be closed to facilitate each phase of works and then re-opened to the public. Access will be maintained for emergency services. Diversion routes will be signed at each location and residents will be informed of the dates of each phase via letter/leaflet drop and advanced warning signs on the road.

An alternative route is available via Station Road, High Street, Henham Road, Mill Road, Crow Street, Church Street, Hall Road, Old Mead Road and vice versa.

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

Effect of the order:

1. To temporarily close those lengths of road in the District of Uttlesford as specified in the schedule to this Order.

2. A temporary 'No Waiting, No Loading and No Stopping' restriction will be introduced on both sides of carriageway on the above lengths of road for the duration of the closures to facilitate the works. Signs will be installed indicating when the No Waiting restriction will be in force.

(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2024

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council has made the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Ickleton Road, Great Chesterford in the District of Uttlesford, from its junction with Whiteways for a distance of approximately 50m in a south easterly direction. The closure is scheduled to commence on 6th December 2024 for 1 night (00:01 - 04:30), or where stated on a valid permit (KL736BGK-45-75-061224 - Network Rail Infrastructure Ltd). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while track fault investigation/repair works are undertaken by Network Rail Infrastructure Ltd.

An alternative route is available via Ickleton Road, Newmarket Road, Walden Road Roundabout East, Walden Road, Walden Road Roundabout West, Connecting Road To Roundabout For B1383 And B184, Cambridge Road, Causeway, A505 From Pampisford To Duxford, A505 From M11 Junction 10 To Station Road East, Hunts Road, Ickleton Road (C284), Duxford Road (C284), Abbey Street (C284), Frogge Street and vice versa.

The Order came into effect on 14th November 2024 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.

(Over Hall Lane, Ashdon)

(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2024

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council has made the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Over Hall Lane, Ashdon in the District of Uttlesford, from a point approximately 55m south east of its junction with Steventon End for a distance of approximately 90m in a south easterly direction. The closure is scheduled to commence on 3rd December 2024 for 1 day, or where stated on a valid permit (BC008VKW456EA3DEC - Openreach). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while new connection works are undertaken by Openreach.

No alternative route is available (with access only into Over Hall Lane).

The Order came into effect on 14th November 2024 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.
