A38 And A5148 Trunk Roads - Temporary Prohibition of Traffic For Tree Removal Works
What is happening?

THE A38 AND A5148 TRUNK ROADS (SWINFEN, STAFFORDSHIRE)
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2024
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that National Highways Limited (Company No. 9346363) has made an order on the A38 and A5148 Trunk Roads, at Swinfen, in the County of Staffordshire, to allow tree removal works to be carried out.
The effect of the Order will be to close -
(a) the southbound carriageway of the A38 from its junction with the exit slip road leading to its roundabout junction with the A5206 and the A5148 slip roads (Swinfen Interchange), to its junction with the A5148;
(b) the southbound carriageway of the A5148 from its junction with the A38, to its dumbbell roundabout junction with Birmingham Road and the A5;and
(c) the slip road leading to the southbound carriageway of the A5148 from Swinfen Interchange.
The work will be carried out over night between 21:00 hours and 06:00 hours and is expected to start on Monday 9 December 2024 and continue for two nights.
The Order will come into force on 2 December 2024.
Vehicles being used for police, fire and rescue authority, ambulance or winter maintenance purposes and vehicles being used in connection with the works will be exempt from the closures.
Diversion routes via the A38 and the A5 will be signed.
