What is happening?
NORTH LANARKSHIRE COUNCIL
CARFIN ROAD, CRAIGNEUK, WISHAW (TEMPORARY ROAD CLOSURE) ORDER 2024
On 18 November 2024 the North Lanarkshire Council made the above-named Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended by Schedule 1 of the Road Traffic (Temporary Restrictions) Act 1991, and in exercise of all other enabling powers, which makes it unlawful for any person to drive or cause or permit to be driven any motor vehicle (with the exception of vehicles engaged on facilitating the Glasgow Road Active Travel Scheme) on Carfin Road, Craigneuk, Wishaw from its junction with A721 Sheildmuir Street to its junction with Charles Street by reason of works being executed on or near that location.
Alternative routes: Vehicles on the north side of the closure wishing to reach the south side should travel via Carfin Road, Meadowhead Road and onto A721 Craigneuk Street.
Vehicles on the south side of the closure wishing to reach the north side should travel vice versa.
Pedestrian access will be maintained, where practicable, during the closure.
Vehicular access will be maintained, where practicable, during the closure.
The Order, will come into operation at 0001 hours on Monday, 2 December 2024 and will remain in operation until 2359 hours on Friday, 20 December 2024.
